I am very disappointed in the disintegration of the overall establishment and the level of customer service, although it is in line with several other local "fast food" type places (which is why I do not like to rate fast food...high turnover, variance in standards, etc) due to a local apathy towards customers service.
If an individual in this town wants pizza, they have a few options and Pizza Hut is one of 3 as far as this type of pizza. This is the ONLY true dine-in pizza place of this type, however.
We probably order from here at least twice a year. We use to dine-in more frequently however, with the dramatic drop in customer service, the aesthetics and cleanliness and overall experience, we have tried to avoid it altogether. The ONLY saving grace for the establishment is the "taste", and I'm banking on that being a standard recipe.
We arrived 1 1/2 hours before closing. The floor is ripped up and exposed concrete with a HUGE trip hazard where it breaks from concrete to tile. It has been this way for quite some time. The salad bar has been REMOVED, even though they continue to advertise salad bar. In fact, they throw some iceberg and a sliced tomato on top and toss it in a fridge.
There were approximately 20 tables in the place. About 6-8 were occupied, two of them with very large groups. The other tables were all dirty. They very rude woman (I'm assuming she is the manager but maybe not) told us she didn't have time to clean the tables so we could wait for 20 minutes. Then she went to an adjacent table and told them NOT to put anything on this table, making a motion to a pseudo cleaned table, because we were going to sit there.
At least we got a seat (There were 3 of us and it was a huge table for 6-10).
I guess the overall issue with this....NO ONE CARED and NO ONE OFFERED ANY TYPE OF PROFESSIONAL SENTIMENTS about the mess, the delay or their stress. It was as if we could just adapt or leave.
The temperature in the place was so cold, my teen who NEVER gets cold was shivering. My lips were turning purple. We were all wearing sweats and long sleeves, gloves and beanies or hats. It felt 20 degrees warmer outside and I bet it wasn't even 65! We were all shivering violently and decided we could only eat ONE slice of pizza each and then had to leave.
The promptness of the service was about 20 minutes.
There were what looked like 7-10 employees all behind the counter. They were very loud and unprofessional, yelling at each other with loud obnoxious jokes. Someone dropped a glass in the pizza making area (THANK GOODNESS OUR PIZZA was done).
Glass splatters when its broken...they swept and moved on.
The rude woman (she looked to be in her late 50s) started bussing the tables AFTER the two large crowds of diners departed. She slammed plates together like she was mad!
I was scared to ask for anything else.
Pizza was standard but you know, I just don't KNOW with how they acted if my pizza was truly safe.
This place is worth a call to the Texas Department of Health!!!!!
POOR service. POOR professionalism. POOR communication. POOR environment. POOR aesthetics. POOR attention to safety. POOR lack of menu offerings - seriously, what PIZZA HUT does not have a self-service salad bar??? We will probably not be ordering from them any more and will certainly use our abilities to deter others from doing so, at least until they clean up their place and obtain some ORDER and PROFESSIONALISM, at minimum.
