Landa Park is a great place to visit, with something for everyone that likes the outdoors, but if you'd like to go a step further, hike the short Panther Canyon Trail that starts at the park and winds its way up through a forested cut on the edge of the park. The trail crisscrosses a dry stream bed, so it can be rocky in places, but the trail offers a quiet, shaded short hike right in the heart of New Braunfels. If you start at the park, you'll head generally upward on the trek out, and down again as you head back. The upward climb is not bad, so this trail should rate as easy. Still fun, and definitely pretty.
