The food was good but the location lacked some atmosphere as the restaurant was less than half full and it is surrounded by a souvenir shop.

We mainly went because of great reviews on the place but greatly dissapointed with food. Staff was great but that just didnt make up to poor tapas. The place itself looks great and unique with umbrellas. We took calamari, esparagus, beef tartar, tuna. Tuna salad was not seasoned and although they said it was fresh it was from the can. Calamari was nice but nothing extraordinary. Tartar, not so good either, esparagus as they signature dish ok but could have been better. I wouldnt recommend the place as there are better tapas around.

We had Iberian pork and Galician beef for main courses with shared croquetas to start. The mains were delicious and accompanied by a decent bottle of house red. The bill was reasonable and would we go again, certainly!

We love tapas, especially authentic freshly made tapas not the frozen packet food that a lot of the restaurants in the area try to get away with so it was nice to find this little gem.

The restaurant is hidden away down a side walk behind the main plaza strip so it’s not the type of place you’ll just walk into, we’ve actually walked past many times without realising its existence. The restaurant dinning area is outside covered by lots of hanging umbrellas which is a nice touch.

The menu was presented on a small chalk board that was brought to us by the friendly waitress, the menu was small which I imagine changes regularly, usually this is better as you know that everything is fresh and will be cooked with pride. We choose the calamari, asparagus with prawns and serrano, bread with homemade alioli and meat balls with rice. The dishes were very tasty as expected although my only criticism would be that there was only one diced up prawn in the prawn dish. The dishes came out one after another which is how tapas should be served. We ordered white sangria and it really was the tastiest sangria we’ve ever had, so good we ordered another jug!

The waitress was very good, she explained to us how all of the dishes were cooked and which ingredients were used before we placed our order. We had our 17 month old daughter with us and she offered to make her a cheese and ham toasted even though it wasn’t on the menu. The chef/owner even popped over to say hello and asked how our meal was.

If you’re looking for ham egg and chips or a jacket potato then don’t bother entering this restaurant, there’s hundreds of restaurants that serve food like that in Las Americas, La Iberoteka is for those looking for homemade, tasty, authentic Spanish/Canarian food in a relaxed environment. We will definitely be returning!

We walked on the main street and looked on menus of different restaurants. There was nothing interesting so we walked back to this place.

We really enjoyed the atmosphere. Food was good and service very friendly. There was a good selection of snacks and main courses. White wine sangria was excellent!

This is worth visiting, forget the tourist magnets of the main street.
