We went at sunset which was great and meant we could walk around more as it wasn't in the heat of the day. The sand was so soft, a cool experience feeling like we were in the dessert but also being able to see the sea.

We as a heterosexual couple caught the free bus from our Hotel in Playa Del Ingles, along with many other holidaymakers, to visit this 'wonder' but from first drop off by the'nature reserve' area you have to walk past 'Tourist Information Reps" (Timeshare Touts - thought those days had gone) trying to get you in a free Taxi to another resort (Oh, and the scratchcards where you're a winner every-time are also about).
Our aim was to spend all day on the beach until the last bus returned at 5.30pm but after a half an hour of trekking across the beach to find an area of less pebbles/stones at edge of water we came across the unsigned 'Nudist' area where very little is left to the imagination. We are not prudish and each to their own but we felt sorry for the families with Children who you could tell were embarrassed. The thing is; go nude, no problem but some of the men were stretching their 'old boys' out like i don't know what? The sun-cream was getting rubbed in where the sun don't shine. Just all seemed a bit seedy.
Put some signs up please to forewarn others.
It must of been bad because at least 60% of the people on our bus caught the next one back an hour later.

This is a must. The photos don’t do any justice, you have to be there to experience how amazing the views are.

The Sand Dunes are really high, I’ve never experienced anything like this before!

We got a taxi from our hotel in Maspalomas and it was only 3 Euros.

Honestly could not recommend this enough - AMAZING!!!

We booked our holiday to be near the dunes as the images appeared so stunning - nothing compared to experiencing their vastness at first hand experience. The dunes change depending on the weather - calm unblemished sand when their is no wind to a sand storm very quickly...……no photograph can ever capture their magnitude or beauty.
