“Fast, Fun and Dusty!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 November 2011

Three of us joined the trip, it was 7 buggies and the tour leader in total, not having done it before we chose the shorter trip which went off-road up to Fataga, and to the reservoir, it lasted about 3 hours in total.

Some other reviews moan about the fact the "lunch" is only a sandwich, but come on, you aren't there to enjoy a 3 course meal, you are there to DRIVE and enjoy the scenery, go for a proper lunch when you get back if you are that bothered, and also that it's expensive.. Well yes, but they have to earn a living, pay for the equipment and petrol, and storage site, the fun things in life aren't free you know, and the UK / Euro exchange rate doesn't help either!

We had great fun, got very dusty, so wearing old jeans & t-shirt is recommended, they supply you with a bandana for your face and big eye goggles, but this is the most fun you can have with your clothes on!

It's a real hoot, you get away from the tourist trash of Playa del Ingles and into the real (dusty) countryside and through a couple of interesting villages on the way. It's not a wildlife trip, it's mainly DRIVING and a couple of stops to enjoy the scenery with a bit of background history chucked in while you eat your (sandwich) lunch! Don't go expecting a nature tour!!!!

We really enjoyed our trip, and though a little expensive now the exchange rate with the UK Pound has changed, we intend to go on the longer full day trip next time we are over despite it being pretty expensive at about £100 for a single person buggy for the long trip.

This trip is recommended if you want to do something different, have a sense of fun, don't mind getting dusty, and aren't too posh to eat a plain old sandwich for lunch, lol!!!

I'd give it 10/10 for fun, 7/10 for price!

Wasnt too sure about this excursion but I went along as my partner wanted to give it a shot. I had a blast. We were taken out in a small group around maspalomas up into the stunning mountains then a bit off road. Came back pumped and a little bit dusty! The tour guide, Barry was funny and looked after us every step of the way. We even got a toastie in a wee cafe over looking the ocean, BLISS!

Went on this rip off trip costing €120 for 2 of us on 1 buggy and it was the greatest waste of money ever on a holiday. No lunch, apart from a slice of bread and ham and cheese toasted in tin foil which done nothing for the Resaturant we stopped off in for this and no local information on where we were going or where we were ending up, apart from back at Canaries Extreme. Owner did not even know where our apartments were to drop us off!!!!!!!!!. Fast driver/leader so waste of money, don;t bother wasting your time/MONEY.Never again.

“We went on a buggy trip across the island...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 September 2010

We went on a buggy trip across the island that lasted nearly 3 hours, in a small group of about 5 buggies we went up into the mountains on some of the most amazing roads I've ever seen! We also ha some lovely scenery even dolphins at palmetto park!! Then came a free lunch and off road session despite gettin very dirty it was great fun! Make sure you take your driving licence as it's required to book the buggies, the company are very professional and offer free pick up and drop off from your hotel, plus full insurance included in the price.

Overall the best day of our holiday!

Ps make sure you buy the face guard for 2 euros as you need it off road!!!

“Exciting break from the sand and sun on Gran Canaria”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 December 2008

It was the last day of the holiday and we had had enough of the sun and sand in Playa Del Ingles so we booked a morning buggy ride. What a great time we had! The hotel booked it for us through a company called Last Minute Travel but the actual excursion company was Canarias eXtreme who have an office behind the Yumbo. We got a 250cc, two seater buggy for 85 Euros and a 3 hour trip.

After a short trip through the town we went off road - then came the best bit. Up some of Gran Canarias most exciting roads into the mountains. Great views and heart stopping hairpins. The rest of the buggy's had to keep waiting for us (sorry guys) but we were enjoying ourselves and the shots on the camcorder are brilliant.

We were well looked after with a friendly and knowledgeable guide. Well worth it.

Just one thing - It's dusty and we were filthy by the end.
