I'm always very picky when it comes to hotels, and Caribe enchanted me with it's views, pools and general vibe. Also, 4 stars! That's always a good sign, right?
When you enter the resort, it does look like a tropical paradise. Reception was very helpful and sweet, and the grounds looked beautiful.
However, the room was nowhere near 4 stars. It was almost empty. Not enough towels, no toiletries (except for hand wash and shampoo/shower gel attached to the walls). No slippers, empty, lukewarm minibar, no paper, no pens, no room service whatsoever. Some of the sockets didn't work, balcony door very wonky. The view was wonderful though - the pools really do look heavenly.
The walls are made out of cardboard. You can literally hear everyone around you.
Breakfast is standard, not bad - but I've stayed at a three star hotel and got the exact same breakfast.
Also, as I was travelling at peak time (Halloween), of course I expected the price to be quite high. But the ratio of price to service was ludicrous, even counting all the benefits (like Port Aventura entry).
But the worst part was at the very end.
We had a very early flight and had to go to the airport in the middle of the night.
We asked reception about the night buses, and were assured that there's a bus at 3:35 AM. We asked if it needs to be booked in advance, and were absolutely assured that it will come.
At 3:20 we come down and ask again. One more time, we are showered with reassurance.
3:35. Nothing.
3:45. Nothing.
4:00. We talk to reception again. They call the bus company. Nobody booked the bus, so it didn't come.
The reception gentleman tries to negotiate with the bus company, and a bus comes at 4:30.
It was a miracle that we didn't miss our plane - it could've happened very easily with such a level of incompetence.
Perhaps during off-season, when the price is low (and so are your expectations), it can be a nice choice.
But I doubt we'll be coming back.

Stayed here late July/early August for a week, no complaints whatsoever. Great room overlooking the beachpool. Which gave a great view of Red Force in Ferrari Land. Room was spotless with two huge beds. The pool was as clean as you can expect as a man made beach with sand. Great discounts for the fast passes, which I recommend you get without hesitation. They were a god send that time of year. Brilliant, frequent shuttle bus to the main theme parks. We stayed half board so most days we are in the buffet restaurant, which I can't fault either, the food was tasty, fruit was lovely and fresh. It did get a bit samey towards the end, so we took advantage of food tokens at reception, and ate in the park. Takes around 15/20 to get into Salou if you still along nicely, or you can jump on the shuttle, at a reasonable charge. If you're looking for an all round base, then this hotel is brilliant. Will return at some point.

The hotel was good for children, pool was very good but the hotel could be better, cleanness was not perfect, towels were very old . Breakfast and dinner was good the staff managed very well. The hotel is very close to Salo and the best point was the free entry for us to port aventura .

As a young couple, (not interested in the boozy type of holiday) we found very little to complain about at Hotel Caribe. Modern and clean throughout. Either free tickets or great discounts available on the theme/water parks by booking here. Only down side is the local area is extremely touristy, weatherspoons food in every restaurant, nothing authentic Spanish. Despite this we did have a great holiday, and would go back to Hotel Caribe if it were in a different location.

Right, have left this a week to reflect on our weeks holiday at the Caribe.
Flew Manchester to Reus then got a taxi for 30 euros to hotel.
We got there about 8pm so reception quiet and booked in no problem, lovely outside and reception area, went down staircase to bar area, through doors and onto the lovely veranda. Lots of wicker settees and tables overlooking the river cum lake. Beautiful. Allocated Cuaqoa? Block near to man made white sanded beach by the pool. Room 333 on second floor, very clean, spacious, balcony overlooked pool and ferrari land, tv with limited channels, small fridge, no kettle though which proved a bit annoying as we had to buy coffees every day, cheaper to have bought a kettle in salou and smuggled it in. Bathroom large, clean and fine. Air conditioned, cleaned every day.
Only problem was the noisy air con units were above our room and the water was gushing through piping all night, sounded like a running bath above us... Irritating as hell.
Food at breakfasts and evenings were superb, buffet style, no issues at all.. No idea why people have complained about it. Bar drinks and coffees expensive though, beer about three euros when the identical drink in town is half the price or a can is 79cents...use the fridge!!

The park is superb, around 15 mins walk partly uphill, small train runs from hotel to nearly the gates but can be packed.
The parks clean, large, great rides, the one we didnt like was furious baco.. Furious backache we called it.
Stampida, shambhalla, sesame street all great. Queues were fine when we were there.
Ferrari land is a one trick pony, the massive red force coaster, the rest is empty and a bit boring to be honest but if you like ferraris then its ok.. I guess..

So, the hotels great, would deffo return, clean, good food, 15 mins walk to salou, the parks great, just avoid rooms under air con units for noise, utilise the fridge to keep drinks bill down and buy a cheap kettle if you like a brew.
Oh nearly forgot, the pools are great but the white sands very very gritty and gets everywhere but plenty of loungers etc.
