I have spent a week at the Koko and overall it wasnt that bad as far a old cheap hotels go. It isnt where I would take my wife to for a weekend getaway but for me while my Semi was in the shop for major repairs it was just fine. The staff are courtiuos and friendly, the small cafe hase exelent food for a good price ( even though the close at 2 pm on weekdays and 12 noon on weekends ) the free coffe turns cold about the same time the cafe closes, so the rooms could use a coffe pot and micro, but thats not a deal breaker. If I break down here in Lubbock again, I will stay here becuse of the price

Well where do you start with the motel of such low means as the Koko Inn.... My truck needed repair and the cocoa in was the default Motel for Lubbock truck sales and repair... Checked in in the room was disgusting... So I asked for an upgrade or a better room I was willing to pay any price to get out of that hole.... The young lady said she could give me another room but would have to charge me full price.... I was happy to pay anything to get out of the room she originally assigned me... Long story short... Amazing episode about me being escorted by police to another motel.... I would suggest wiping the koko in off of anybody's itinerary.. I do give kudos to the van driver who was much stronger than I expected when we had our little altercation... Side note, Lubbock police officers who assisted me in this huge mistake or professional polite and deserve our highest praise...

Personally me and my girlfriend came to texas for a couple days and we stayed at the ko ko inn and i have to say i read all theae reviews and i expected the worst... well we get here the guy at the desk was super cool and nice we get into our room immediately i start searching for skid marks mold cockroaches anything disgusting. And honestly i found nothing i mean its a cheaper hotel for sure but i definitely think its worth the price the bed was clean and made nicely no mold no cockroaches and definitely no skid marks a/c and heated rooms tv free wifi and a pool.. the pools a little cold but once u get in its fine no blow dryers or anything in the rooms there is a microwave and fridge but other then that everthingis fine ive seen no mice no cockroaches nothing so people really need to grow up with the reviews they are posting because its ridiculous.

This is the absolute WORST place. We paid for 2 nights and only stayed 1 - we seriously considered sleeping in our car. Our "non-smoking" room REEKED of smoke and was FILTHY dirty. Upon our arrival we found brown skids on the blanket, sheets and in the toilet. Outlets did not work - (unless you physically held the plug to the outlet) disgustingly dirty carpet, raw wires hanging, moldy shower/tub, cats and vagrants prowling around outside. We went out and bought our own mattress cover, sheets, blankets and towels for the night that we were there - it was THAT bad. We were expecting an old hotel - and we were fine with that! We only wanted a clean space. But the smoke and filth at the Koko is UNACCEPTABLE. I have reported this place to the Health Department as it should be condemned. DO NOT STAY THERE!! It does not deserve even one star. HORRIFIC!!!

Cockroaches all over the place, cigaret smell, stinky floors, and stop counting... We booked a room in KoKo Inn because every other hotel in Lubbock was booked due to Texas Tech parents weekend. We paid a $100/nigh fare, so we didn't expect any luxuries, but we expected the minimum a hotel can offer: a clean room (at least).
The first room was not beyond dirty, but it had an undesirable cigaret smell, (even though it was a non-smoking room). We requested a changed and were given a dirty room: towels in the floor, beds were not made, etc. We went back to the reception desk, and were given another stinky room, (the third attempt), so we decided to go out for a couple of hours so they can clean the second room, which at least didn't stink.
We went back to a (still dirty) room but at least beds were made. We sprayed Lysol all over the please to at least disinfect it.
If you can, save yourself the horror of sleeping in a disgusting place among cockroaches. Yes, it could be worse... Probably prison. Although I'm not so sure.
