We recently stayed for three nights in one of the cottages at Beau Rive. The hotel is located in a beautiful setting with fantastic views of the Atlantic Ocean and surrounding countryside. The hotel has a simple elegance, and the staff pays particular attention to detail. Mark Steele, the owner and manager is the ultimate host. He helped us find interesting places to visit, and even took time to drive and show us a house he is building. The day we left, Mark let us stay until late in the afternoon (well after normal checkout time) so that we could relax before our flight.

Beautiful setting, amazing views across the sea, and fabulous food! Owner and staff are so friendly and welcoming too. Some great old photos, also lots of books and comfy chairs to spend peaceful reading time on wet days.

This is one of the loveliest small hotels we've ever stayed in. A beautiful peaceful location, stunning views, wonderful freshly prepared meals and an attentive host. We arrived very late after a delayed flight, very tired and starving and found a delicious meal waiting for us despite the late hour. The rooms are large, simply furnished with a very comfortable bed and a large verandah overlooking the coast. Thanks to Mark and his hard working team

We stayed at Beau Rive for two weeks back in late February and early March of 2017. Originally, we were going to stay at two different places in different parts of the island, and I still recommend that plan to people because it can take a long time to drive to the extremities of the island - staying in two places cuts down on the driving.

But having said that, we saw very little in the way of other hotels that could compare to Beau Rive. The hotel is beautifully set on a hill over the west coast and surrounded by colourful gardens, alive with humming birds by day and jumbo fireflies by night. Beyond the grounds, all you can see are trees and ocean, so the place is very secluded and quiet.

Beau Rive has a old-world feel - jazz plays nightly in the lounge where the cocktails are served, and if you're lucky you may hear stories from one guest or another about Joan Collins, swindlers, smugglers, artistes, yacht racing, Scottish investigators, or Bob Marley.

Breakfasts and dinners are served on the veranda overlooking the ocean, and consist of local ingredients expertly prepared. The house-made preserves, ice cream, and yogurt were especially nice, and I particularly liked the yogurt with lime. We ate dinner there every night, and all the meals were excellent and reasonably priced. All the staff did a great job in making us feel welcome and well cared-for.

We stayed in one of the two traditional West-Indian cottages and would definitely do so again.

We absolutely loved this hotel. The location is amazing and the hotel comes from another era. Wonderful food, the sound of crashing waves when you wake up and the views out over the forest and the ocean were Stunning.
Mark, the staff, the two dogs and the cat were all charming.
We had three vegetarians who the hotel accommodated at short notice. The home made food and the rum cocktails were terrific.
There are a few times when I come across an exceptional hotel - Beau Rive is definitely one.
