It's very nice to be able to view first run movies in pleasant clean movie theatre downtown! This location is supposed to serve meals but food choices were limited the day we attended. Still, no fault with facilities or staff.

I watched Moonlight here after it won the Oscar and the cinema was okay-priced and offered a good selection of films. I didn't try the snacks, but they looked okay :).

There are competitors in town for high-end movie/dining experiences, but Sundance is the original. The first. I still love every movie experience I have here. The food continues to be excellent, the beverages are delishz, and the tickets prices are HALF what the nearest competitor charges for premium seating. I don't need a blanket... gimme a comfortable chair and a great movie!

I don't think they try to be so bad, but they sure don't put any effort into being any good either. They just went through a purchase by a nationwide chain. So now the service suffers even more. Facilities appear nice, but its lipstick on a pig. Theaters are often left dirty, you might be directed to the right screen when you go in, prepare to wait in enormous lines at the bar or concessions. They will put one person handling a massive line and it seems to be a person who doesn't know the system. They advertise an amenity fee that is supposed to be for better service, better facilities, and no commercials. None of that holds true. Service is slow, the staff rarely cares, facilities often don't work (trash bags on urinals), and they show commercials now.

The up side is they have reserved seating, online bookings, and films that aren't at the major chains. But if you've been to a swanky independent chain anywhere else, or even elsewhere in Houston, this doesn't seem so special. It could be, but it's unlikely they will ever bring it back to what it has been or could be.

This is a very nice theater with comfortable seating. You can also pick your seats when you buy your tickets. They also have a nice selection of coffee drinks at the concession stand. The tickets seemed on the pricey side for a matinee movie, but otherwise, a nice place to check out a movie if you are in downtown Houston.
