Cafe Annie is one of our favorite restaurants in Houston. It is classy and timeless for lunch and dinner. In normal time the food is great and the service is always fantastic. I love the terrace when the weather is good and in winter I love the heat lamps. But we stopped going there for a while for two reasons: 1- They had a new French chef (who is now gone and good riddance!) who messed up the menu and the food was awful. Chef Robert Del Grande gave the French chef too much freedom. 2- They increased their prices so high it was insulting to long time patrons like us and removed the very reasonable wine list they had. Now the prices are back to normal and in fact a little lower. Now they added a delicious $38 set menu. That is the price of a main course in any restaurant. The portions where huge and the service was excellent as usual. We had a great time and loved the music. I am glad we gave Café Annie another chance. So welcome back Café Annie. We will return very soon!

Wanting to splurge one night in Houston, I chose to go to Cafe Annie. It was everything I had hoped for. A very, very classy place with one large area designed for comvortable sofas/chairs/coffee table and another large area for dining at tables. It was a truly glamorous place with candles, chandeliers, terrific service. It is pricey with appetizers starting at about $15 and main entrees at about $20. They do have a price fix option of 3 courses for $38. Highly recommend if you want to splurge and have a relaxing and very nice evening. We stayed for 3 hours! They take reservations.

Had a fantastic meal - seafood entrees both of us. Staff was attentive but not obtrusive. Bar area, however, is next to the dining room and the noise was distracting during the meal.

We loved going to Cafe Annie when it was in its old location. The food, the service and the atmosphere were truly exceptional. We recently met friends at Cafe Annie in its new location. The whole space felt a bit peculiar. The entry is lovely but you have to walk up a flight of stairs to get to the hostess desk. Seems like most of the area is set up to cater to the bar crowd and the inside dining area seems like an afterthought. I can overlook all that if the food was as creative and outstanding as it once was. Other than the crabmeat tostada appetizer for $28, the food was good but not the caliber I expected from RDG. I'd think twice about going back. I also thought the prices in general were more expensive than other upscale restaurants in the area.
