I stayed now the University of Houston Hilton a number of times, and I am always treated with care, kindness, and respect. The staff goes out of its way to make sure you have a good stay, and goes above and beyond to make sure any little problem is immediately corrected.

Staff is young, eager and friendly. Room was spotless - great view of the Houston skyline. Dinner at the restaurant was excellent - the salmon was perfectly done. Selected because of location. So glad I found it.

This hotel never fails to impress me. It is our third year staying there for a large diving meet, and the hotel staff is always so accommodating to our large group! I think it is important to remind people that this is a teaching/training hotel, so many of the staff are just learning what to do. Always so polite and patient with our large group of energetic kids and stressed out parents. Thanks, Hilton! (Photo: pizza party in the lobby)

The hotel is defined by its location on the University of Houston campus. Everything else requires a car trip. Most of the staff are international students in the hospitality program. All are friendly. Think of everyone as a trainee and you won’t be disappointed. The location is safe and fairly central.

This is a hotel that looks nice, but from the start nothing worked correctly. Immediately had to be switched to another room due to HVAC loudness. Phone in the room never worked correctly. There was no fridge (small thing, but still). Worst, was the wifi network which presented numerous issues - prevented me from doing my work. Despite complaining to various individuals, the issue was never resolved. A huge issue. Zero tech support available via telephone. I was completely stuck with network issues on Sunday night. This place is not accommodating to business travelers. And is the only show in this part of town.

Everyone I spoke to about the issues I encountered during my stay seemed very uncertain and frankly unprofessional in their responses. Given the cost to stay at the property, I was very displeased. I know this is a teaching location, but sadly it showed at every point during my stay. The property looks nice and updated, but doesn't function well is my sad pronouncement. Disappointed to say the least.

Room Tip: Beware - some rooms have non-functioning thermostats that blow loudly ALL THE TIME - ask to switch rooms if you get one of these stinkers.
