We had a great 3 night first time visit to Galveston Island. We were in Texas for other reasons and decided we wanted to visit Galveston and stay on the coast for a few nights. We really enjoyed the Marriott Courtyard which is right on Seawall Blvd directly across the street from the Gulf. We stayed in a King Size suite with a balcony and direct view of the water. The weather was fantastic for February, bright and sunny and in the 70's. Since we are from Wisconsin, we very much enjoyed our time in the sun.

We had originally booked two nights but decided we'd like to stay an extra day so when asked, they had no problem adding another night in the same room which was great since we didn't want to move all of our stuff. The hotel is very modern and clean, great lobby and first floor area and the room was great. There are only 6 rooms with balconies so we were glad we were able to get one on the 3rd floor. There were also many rooms that face the gulf with a great view, just don't have the balcony. The room was large enough for the king size bed, a full size sofa and computer desk. The hotel is almost out of town but it was very easy to get everywhere in less than 15 minutes. Marriott's Townplace Suites is located directly behind the Courtyard and share the same pool. Although they don't have direct views of the Gulf, their building has a sideways view of the water.

Very very clean
Soft bed
Bathroom nice with Paul Mitchell products
Good decor
Good food. No room service.
Small store with candy, chips, ice cream and drinks
Starbucks in lobby. Great!
Nice employees.
Shuttle service to Pleasure Pier or restaurants.
Nice pool.
Our room had a balcony. Wonderful!
Walk across to beach.
The day we went the water was up to rocks that preserve the beach.
We walked on them.
Next morning there was some beach.
Only a few things wrong:the couch was torn on the corner
The a/c was a little noisy and our phone did not work
Overall great
We have stayed here before and it has always been nice.
Great 42 anniversary!
Nice relaxing place to get away.

Room Tip: Ask for Gulf view or room with a balcony

Stayed here during a conference at Moody Gardens. Only 10 min from the conference and right across the street from the beach. I have a room with a balcony overlooking the ocean and it is great. Lobby is very nice and has a bar. Short drives to restaurants and attractions

We stayed 1 night and the hotel is very nice. We didn't get the room with a view of the gulf like we had wanted but it turned out fine. The manager was very very accommodating and adjusted our bill. The bathroom was fabulous! Someone was really thinking about the practical side of this. The tub was a little slippery but there are handrails placed strategically so you can hold on. And the towel rack was right next to the shower, so towel access was possible. Our rooms was very very comfortable and clean. Be sure tho, when booking, if you don't want a smoking room or hallway, that's taken care of. It never occurred to me about the hallway and it smelled of smoke. But our room did not. There is an eating area but no meals are included in the stay. We would definitely stay again!

Room Tip: If you want a gulf view, you have to ask at time of booking

We wanted a quick get away weekend from Sugar Land. We chose the Courtyard because we had enough points for some free nights. It was a very good decision. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly greeting us every time we came in. We liked the location because it was away from all of the touristy places. But it was not so far that we could not get to the east end or downtown area easily.

We will definitely stay here again
