Hotel had a good breakfast, great staff, upgraded our room, comfortable. Center of town is about 1 mile to the west...sidewalk on both sides of the street, passing examples of homes built by its German settlers back in 1846. You have a beautiful central marketplace... the Nimitz museum, the War in the Pacific WW II Museum, and very pretty green areas throughout... the library has the original books in German the settlers bought with them; many places to eat; also nearby was a beautiful wild flower place about 6 nm out of town to the east on the main highway... wildseed farms, where it is free to walk around the fields of wildflowers and trees,; they also had great homemade peach ice cream... at the wildseed farms...

We (family of 5) had a great stay at this hotel. The staff was friendly and everything was clean. It's also a good location because you can walk to the local shops and restaurants. My only complaint is that the internet service was slow.

Most convenient chain hotel nearest to the action of Fredericksburg - easily within walking distance to shopping, restaurants and Nimitz Museum. It’s an older Hampton Inn based on the rooms and could use a sprucing up of the rooms themselves. Lobby and guest areas were clean and updated. My room was clean but the bathroom had what appeared to be old inside the shower door area and above the shower on ceiling and at the ceiling/wall joint of the shower.

Traveled 5 hours to Fredericksburg for a family girl's weekend ages 68 to 1 years old. We checked in around 4PM only to be told that our request for connecting rooms at the time of booking was never taken into account and that the hotel was booked solid for the weekend. It was Friday and the parking lot had 4 cars in it at 4PM. We were given two rooms that couldn't be further apart on different floors at opposite ends of the hotel. We talked to the front desk, to management and finally with corporate reservations. Corporate tried their best to help out, but it was the onsite manager who absolutely refused to help and confirmed that at the time of booking, rooms are pre-assigned to a reservation and that there was nothing she could do at all to change that. I even asked her if all guests had checked in for the weekend, and she replied, "Of course not!" There definitely seemed to be a failed connection and logic there on her part. Corporate reservations even confirmed that room assignments are based on availability upon check-in which we took for granted as the norm. During check-in and check-out, it was clear that all front desk agents were in training or had been transferred in for the day from another location.

This hotel is on Main Street, but at the very end of it as you are coming into town from the east side. The walls/floors are also very thin as we got to hear EVERYTHING that was happening in the room above us for a solid 3 hours that night. Glad someone had a good night at the hotel....

The free breakfast was pretty solid though. The breakfast staff worked tirelessly to keep everything replenished for all the guests. Our favorite were the biscuits and gravy. The hotel also provides hot coffee and cookies in the afternoon and evening time.

Some details need attention like visible mold in the bathroom sink overflow drain, broken toilet paper holder and gaps under the main door to the room where a small child can stick half their arm under.

Room tip: Call ahead and ask for the location of your pre-assigned room. Avoid room 130!

I was coming to Fredericksburg for a Valentine's getaway. I had used my hilton hotel points to book a room here at the Hampton inn. They treated me like family and were very courteous to me n my wife.
