This was our second time to stay at the Hangar and just loved it! It's liked stepping back into to the 40s. Decor is great. Balcony overlooks the runway which had regular traffic when we were there. The bar area is also 40s, with a pool table and live music on the weekends. We had a great time.

We stayed with 2 other couples during the week. Room is large and attractive, but we had two huge arm chairs and a stool. I end tables, a pole lamp that was too short, and had a very low wattage bulb, a tiny TV with just a few stations. March Madness was on and we couldn’t watch one of the stations. Room was poorly lit with no light in the entry. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom was nice but there was not a hand grip in the tub and it was dangerous.

They advertise continental breakfast, but it was small scones and some fresh fruit. They have coffee and teas 24/7, which was nice. The very nice diner was not open for breakfast on Thursday. The hotel is south of town, so you have to drive there for breakfast during the week, and dinner every night. On Friday the diner was open for breakfast. Food was good, but not hot.

We had rooms 1 and 3 off of the lobby. They were noisy in the morning with people getting coffee, and the maids who were accessing their closet across from us. I would get a room down the hall.

Four of us stayed here for two nights in February. In the warmer weather( not 28 degrees one morning!) it would have been delightful to sit outside with a drink and watch small planes landing and taking off. The rooms and amenities rival the top chain hotels. The bar(Officers Club) had a fantastic guitar player- along with a very nice Happy Hour. Directly next door, we enjoyed a very complete breakfast. The town of Fredericksburg is an easy 10 minute drive. Another nice touch was that they have a lighted candle in each window as a tribute to veterans.

This is a true boutique hotel with pilots in mind. The dark wood interiors make this place feel warm and welcoming from the first step inside. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We had a room on the second floor, there are only two floors in the hotel. The hotel itself sits perpendicular to the airport runway, so no room really looks right over the airport, but a porch is at the end of the hallway, with rocking chairs to watch the airplanes and the spectacular sunset each evening. The rooms are well appointed with two leather chairs and a king size bed. The bathroom is retro with black and white tiles. The shower is just OK. About 3 1/2 miles to downtown. Not a bad drive at all, but nothing you could walk. Very quiet area, except for the planes, which you really only hear during takeoff.

The Hangar Hotel is a great step back in time. Lovely accommodations and a great porch with rocking chairs to watch the planes come/go and the sunset. Will definitely go back! The Diner next door serves a good breakfast and lunch too.
