My wife and I like to stay in mom and pop retro motels when we can. While we have come to FB many times over the years we have never stayed here. It will not be our last time here. While the curb appeal may not be great, the rooms themselves are fine. We had a pet friendly king room and as this was a big event weekend in town, the 98 per night cost was cheaper than other places with available rooms. Pet deposit was $25. Check in was quick and friendly. When we showed up a bit after three pm we were the only car but by the end of the evening it was sold out.

Room was spotless and everything worked. Nice tv with decent cable package. WiFi worked great in our room—106. Had built in dresser drawers and a small make-up area the wife really liked. The bathroom was partial tile with a full tiled shower and not a trace of mold or mildew anywhere. Towels were ok. Bed was comfy and lot of pillows. Nice view of a little pasture out the back window and saw a few deer out three in the mornings. Chairs for sitting out front and a pool and gazebo. Word of warning for pet owners— the grassy area around the gazebo does have sticker burrs and can cause some issues for your pet. Did find a burr free area near the picnic table at the far end of the property.

Is this the fanciest place in town? No. But it is neat, clean and well priced. Lots of other stuff to spend money on rather than an overpriced room.

Said they were simple and inexpensive and pet friendly. We showed up and there were no cars in the parking lot. The wanted $90 for one night plus $25 per dog. I explained that the much better laquinta would be that price. She just looked at me and we left. It wasn't even as good as the pictures . We are off to llano for a cleaner hotel that is much cheaper.

This was our first time staying at the Dietzel Motel, and we were not disappointed! My husband and I love to stay in what we call "Retro Lodging" (maybe because it reminds us of the good old days lol!) Anyway, the Dietzel was perfect - very nice shower, the room had everything we could ask for (mini fridge, microwave, etc) and a view of the woods outback which was a very nice touch. The king bed we had was as good as (if not better) than our bed at home. Very quiet and peaceful place to unwind and sleep.

If you are expecting a lot of amenities, you need to book a room elsewhere - the Dietzel provides, exceptionally clean rooms, peaceful surroundings, and for us, a great night's sleep! We will be back! (review from 2 "kind of senior citizens" in their 60's)

This little motel was great for our last minute trip. The place is outdated but it was completely clean, everything was in working order, not a cobweb anywhere. There was a small apartment sized fridge and a microwave in the room...both worked great! Both ladies at check in and check out were very helpful and friendly. It's not fancy, but it doesn't pretend to be either. It is a comfortable, clean, quite room, perfect for a fun weekend trip to Fredericksburg. They allow pets too.

Third stay here, good price, clean room, and a great place to crash after a day of Tasting! We brought our little dog and he was welcomed with open arms. Cant beat the service or the price. The front desk is always helpful. Make sure to grab a coffee in the AM.
