“Totally worth the visit!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 February 2012

I went to Palo Duro Canyon State Park with my husband for our wedding aniversary July 2011. The park has great hiking and biking trails. If you like hiking and scenic view, you will love this park. The only drawback is that while our lighthouse hiking we encountered a lot of horseflies, and they can bother you all the way. If you know what can repell them just take it with you.
We stayed at one of their CCC cabins and it was beautiful. Bathrooms are very close to it (walking distance) and the stars at night are amazing. We ussually like camping but since the heat was brutal we decided to stay in the CCC. Just call in advance if you want to do the same since there are only 4 available. They are worth it!
We went to the show and dinner and it was very good. I would definetely recommend it.
Hope you have a good trip!!!! Enjoy!!!!!

“Beautiful”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 January 2012

We decided to take a road trip the beginning of January and went to Amarillo, Texas. The Palo Duro Canyon State Park near Amarillo was a last minute decision because the weather was wonderful, high 60's. It was beautiful and very worth the trip. Each curve was different because of the way the sun hit the canyon. I didn't realize it was the 2nd largest canyon in the US, don't miss this if you are near Amarillo!
