dirty sink, dirty bathroom floor, sticky desk, shades did not cover windows completely, so very bright, noisy with train, one chair, plastic cups. such a disappointment.

We reserved a king bed and were given a queen. They said they compensated by giving us a suite.... the suite was a room with a trundle bed and one chair. Nothing was very welcoming, lovely or nice.

Room Tip: I have no idea! I requested one room but was given another.

Our corner room, which we didn't request but appreciated, came with a twin bed in one room and a queen bed in another. The bathroom was huge and had a claw foot tub with shower. The toiletries in the bathroom were very nice.

We had drinks in the bar while watching the Aggies and Astros. The two bartenders were very charming and accommodating.

The free breakfast in the morning was great! Self serve waffle maker, crispy hash browns, sausage, eggs, yogurt and cereal.

The trains started coming around 3 am and were about every 30 minutes. I believe since our room was closest to the tracks, they are noticeable. We were offered ear plugs and we declined. I would suggest taking them just in case your room is on the track side of the hotel. I do hope the hotel can get this made into a quiet zone because it's so comfortable otherwise with really friendly staff.

As per my prior review, we have stayed at the LaSalle 10+ times per year for the last 5+ years. When new management took over around 2 years ago, the changes were evident, all positive. I rated it "Very Good"
Unfortunately, often when the quick financial return does not occur, upper management (in this case the owner), tries to improve returns by cutting cost & staff.
Now there is no restaurant, just marginal breakfast offering etc....a change, which was never communicated to guests staying until arrival & not updated on website or signage. Exceptional, remaining, dedicated Staff is trying to "multi-task" between bar & check-in...and other duties.
Several of our football colleagues who stayed at the LaSalle last year with our group subsequently cancelled & gone elsewhere.
We have remained primarily due to the great service by the dedicated staff (including Heidi, Rob & Melissa).
... and we hope upper management "wakes up'!, its a great location & the historical, growing Downtown Bryan deserves a great, well managed hotel.

Mr. Currie, we are sorry you feel this way. Although, we will take what you say under consideration, we will not honor these unfair and inaccurate assumptions by responding specifically to them. Our staff takes a lot of pride in our operations and are continually striving to improve them. We also take a lot of pride in welcoming criticism and feedback without being offended. However, this commentary crosses a line even for us as we will not be subjected to unfair criticisms. Thank you for your patronage thus far and we wish you the best of luck in finding a place of stay that better suits your needs. Thanks - The Owner

LaSalle Hotel is located in a community of great restaurants within easy walking distance. The hotel itself is an old, but nicely preserved venue with a wonderful courtyard which offers comfortable seating and weekend music, but there are some issues to consider. The hotel does not provide parking, but rather suggestions for on street parking and never before have we been offered ear plugs to address the frequent freight trains that come 24 hours a day within a block of the hotel... our two year old grandson enjoyed their frequent arrival, but simply put they are loud. Finally, their morning breakfast was barely adequate.

Thank you for your feedback Dan. Unfortunately, when the downtown Bryan area was built a dedicated parking lot for the hotel was not allotted for. We do share a parking lot with the building adjacent to us, but suggest street parking since typically you can find a parking spot that is closer to the hotel. We are currently working with the City of Bryan to make this area a "quiet zone" for the passing trains, but we will address the issue of you not being offered ear plugs with our front desk staff. We hope we get a chance to provide you with an excellent stay in the future!

Like the location and the idea but the execution is way off. Our room had visible mold, vanity sink that barely drained and a blind that fell off the wall. Staff was invisible most of the time so could not comment on them. Oh and the trains... first thing you see at check in desk. And, there is no mention of the trains that come 2-3 time per night with full horn blasts.

Room Tip: Room 604 has mold issues and slow draining sink
