The morning we arrived at the Creameries we were the only family there visiting. We went upstairs and were greeted by a very nice guy. He walked us back to the window to where we could see how the ice cream was packaged and he told us the history of Blue Bell and how the process goes for making the ice cream and where all the ingredients come from. It was very informative, and after seeing that you get a nice sized cup of ice cream for just a buck. My kids loved the gift shop and bought themselves quite a few souvenirs for them selves and their friends. This is a great place for a family to visit!

We always have fun watching the kids enjoy the ice cream and I like their gift shop! The pecan pralines &Cream was worth taking lactaid to eat, First ice cream I have had since the last BlueBell visit!

In years past, there were bona-fide tours of the Blue Bell Creameries. Now, the viewing is strictly from a glassed-in observation area, looking down on the production floor. In the Visitors Centers, there are photographs of old-timey Blue Bell stores, etc. Unfortunately, there were only a few real "items." Everything else was static photos, which doesn't hold much attraction for children, and this is primarily a children's attraction. Upstairs in the "cafe," you can buy a small container of any of their ice cream flavors for $1. There are tables where you can sit. No other beverages or food items are for sale. There are two parking lots, one on either side of the building. Honestly, I was disappointed that there wasn't more on display such as old ice-cream makers, old posters for their ice cream, the old delivery trucks where ice-cream trucks went through neighborhoods selling ice cream, etc.

Having tried the ice cream we were keen to do the tour, but unfortunately the factory is closed at the weekend when we were driving by. We still stopped to look at the pleasant grounds out front with the famous statue of the cow and the little girl. Super cute. Worth a five minute stop even if closed.

Best ice cream in the world! The Bride’s cake and cookies and cream are another level of amazing. Worth the trip over and over again.
