“A little empty ...”

Mason Clarke Coffee Roastery and Preserving Kitchen
Ranked #1 of 1 Coffee & Tea in Dimboola

We had stayed overnight in Dimboola and needed coffee and breakfast before heading out of town. The reviews were reasonable for Mason Clarke and although the website stated they were closed Wednesday’s we discovered otherwise. But therein lies the issues. I guess. It’s a great idea that winds up being otherwise. The store was almost inviting. The service was almost ok. The shelves were mostly empty and the coffee was ... above average. Just. We left town in search of breakfast. I guess like everyone else does.

Not as good as previous visit. Lovely place though. Nothing much to eat - no skinny milk - looks like mainly concentrating on their preserves which look amazing. This place could be a little gold mine as not much else to choose from

We travel the highway Adelaide to Melbourne and return several times per year. Had not seen mason Clark before but found it on web after an o/nite stay in Horsham. Coffee was quite decent. Large flat whites. We enjoyed the coffee. Here are the negatives. Early May 2017. 9am. Very cold and the cafe is cold too. A nice big split system air con was not switched on. Could easily have a cosy atmosphere. Victorian Cafes usually do this well. Coffee made and served by a taciturn man. Seemed indifferent to our custom. No newspapers to be seen. We didn't bother to ask about a glass of water..none was evident. Most Cafes will have some papers and a water jug. Come on guys..the highway has by-passed Dimboola, and I thought that this cafe might need the custom..perhaps it was a bad morning, but more effort could be useful.

Saw the great reviews so on our way back from Adelaide called in even though it showed the cafe was closed on Tuesdays. The cafe no longer does food but it does do excellent coffee. Cash only. The opening hours are now a bit random working around harvesting. You can also pick up a large range of home made preserves. Dimboola is a delightful little town that needs travellers support so call in, the bakery is also good

Amazing poached eggs for breakfast with homemade relish and crispy bacon. Best coffee in Victoria, coffee beans are roasted on the premises. Organic cakes are delightful. Unfortunately Mason Clarke has closed for now but hopefully will reopen in a couple of months. They are opening on Saturday and Sunday's 8 to 1pm just for takeaway coffee but no food.
