We had an excellent lunch, with a starter, main course and pudding.
I had the chicken terrine to start and my fiancé, smoked haddock ‘Bon bons’. Both were excellent and would not be out of place in much more expensive restaurant surroundings. This was followed by roast pork and venison stew, while my granny had the duck leg. My roast was much better than the usual gastro-pub fayre and the stew had finesse. I had a apple crumble ice cream sundae for pudding- an unusual take on a classic, which left me defeated!
A lovely lunch. I am loathed to use the expression excellent value, as that often means ‘average but cheap’ but it is fully deserved here.More
