“Superb isolated location with sensational views.”
Reviewed 7 January 2016 for a stay in January 2016

Just got back from a 2 night stay with my wife, 15 week old daughter and 2 friends with their 2 year old son. We cannot fault the cottage and fully recommend.

The directions to the cottage were perfect and we found it no problem, hidden descent was exactly that. We did have to shuffle some sheep along the road but they moved with no fuss. We requested 2 bags of logs for the fire which were there on our arrival and quickly warmed the cottage once we had it going. Something that was not mentioned but was a great asset for us was there was a travel cot provided in the master bedroom.

None of us had phone signal and there is no wifi, we loved it! We also couldn't get TV signal but there was plenty of DVDs to choose from and some random CDs. We listened to the whole back catalogue of U2 and Coldplay while playing scrabble. Again plenty of games to choose from.

We ventured out to Machynlleth for the market on Wednesday, it was quiet as expected this time of year. We managed to get some amazing Welsh lamb and veg for dinner. We did walk the huge hill at the back of the cottage which is a lot steeper than it looks but the view was well worth it. All the bedrooms were great, bathroom was also good and an excellent shower. Kitchen has everything you need to cook, eat and drink.

Will definately be returning to explore further when our daughter has grown up a bit and can really appreciate the surroundings.

Huge shout out to the local farmer from the nearby caravan park that borrowed us some jump leads. Saved our trip.

Can Complain the cottage its all good views... But for 2 nights £32 Electricity bill was bit step even if you turn on all the stuff in for whole week it wont be that much.... + £9 Charge for 30 mins late exit from the property ... The cleaner who come to wait out side the cottage 40mins before our checkout..... Common it a bit pushyy to be honest...

Electricity is charged at cost, so that guests who use less pay less and not subsidise others.
Check out is clearly communicated to be 11am and the cleaner has a lot of other properties to service and that is just his rate for his time.
We didn't keep any part of the above. We try to keep the above seperate and fair to keep costs down for most people.

“Wonderful and so restful place !”

Really lovely cottage, really functional, nice books, games and DVD for all the family. We had everything we needed like in our house !! We had unforgettable, fresh air and sunny walks in the middle of nowhere and the sheep... Our girls loved playing with the little spring in front of the cottage or just stay and read in front of the fireplace...(not too close). Ruth and Chris were very helpful and fast to answer to our last requests to organize our stay. It's really worth it !

“An idyllic cottage located in stunning countryside”

I could not recommend this place enough! A group of us visit this cottage every year (this was our third visit) and it's just a beautiful and idyllic place. The cottage is incredibly comfortable and beautifully renovated, whilst retaining it's original character and charm. Stunning log burning fires in both the living room and kitchen, which makes it incredibly cosy. It also feels very spacious re communal areas, with a good-sized lounge and well kitted out large kitchen and dining area. The bedrooms are charming and comfortable, and the whole place is always very clean and presentable. It's location is fantastic, at the top of a beautiful valley surrounded by hills. A stream runs round the cottage meaning when you open your bedroom window that's all you hear, blissfully relaxing!

It's also ideal for walkers, with the added benefit of nearby Machynlleth which has lovely shops and pubs.

We will be back! Thanks!

On a beautiful, quiet location cottage. Spacious kitchen, lots of space around the house. Beautiful scenery with sheep in the immediate vicinity. Recommendation Worthy.

Liked best: peaceful location
Liked least: In the summer there is a possibility in a dry period that there is no water (the water comes from the mountains and is collected in a 1,000 liter tank.) moreover, the owner have someone who can fill the tank.
