Glandyfi Castle was the most pleasant stay we encountered during our two trips to Wales. Our hosts are very pleasant and the location is amazing. I can simply recommend everybody to stay in this place. As we stayed there during low season (actually more than one year ago), we got an upgrade to a even more beautiful room. Simply gorgeous!

My first visit to Glandyfi Castle for my sister's 60th birthday.
Absolutely stunning setting. Long winding up hill drive way through the grounds.
I could of spent hours either sat in the garden or in a window seat watching the view changing with the weather.
Beautiful bedrooms & amazing en suites.
And the food, mmmm mmmm..
Delicious & perfect.
Many many thanks for such a perfect time ♥

The owner greeted us when we arrived after dark. They patiently explained about the history of the place to us. So everything from first contact/enquiry to check out was great. They were very professional in running the b&b service. This was a very quiet place and a little bit in the middle of nowhere (even though it was literally next to a major town/province road) because after your drove in from the province road, then the car needed to pass thru a winding hilly road to the castle... at night it could be dark, so if you care about this you could try to arrive early.
The castle/mansion was amazing!! The exterior was well preserved and maintained. And so was the interior, especially at lobby, dining hall and the living room area. Whats great about this place was the guest rooms were fully renovated to be in 21st century standard! So when you climbed the stairs to your room.. you pretty much went into a time tunnel to bring you to another era. This was perfect for my husband who loved everything modern and me who loved everything classic and traditional. Last but not least.. the view in the morning was amazing! I couldnt left my room (nightangle room) until the last second of the check out time (12 or 1 o clock). I pretty much just sat there, drinking tea and appreciating all the fall color dotting the river banks, from my room window. What a romantic getaway!

My husband and I have just returned from a fabulous weekend at Glandyfi Castle.

From the moment we arrived and drove up the driveway, we knew we were somewhere special. We were greeted by the friendly and welcoming host who was more than happy to give us a tour around the castle. She then showed us to our room, Osprey.

It was simply stunning! The room is decorated very tastefully and in keeping with the style of the castle. It was clean and there were some lovely finishing touches, such as fresh flowers (and chocolates!)

However, it's the bathroom that really sets this room apart. It is huge with an enormous jacuzzi bath in the centre! Again, this room is spotless and decorated to a high standard; this time the owners have opted for a more contemporary design which perfectly complements the more traditional bedroom. Again, there are some lovely finishing touches, such as Clarins minis.

The views from both the bedroom and bathroom are stunning, overlooking the estuary.

We were fortunate enough to have glorious sunshine and went for a walk in the castle grounds. The gardens have been beautifully maintained and it was so lovely to walk around and take in the beautiful scenery.

The breakfast was delicious and the host couldn't do enough for us! There was a wide selection of fruits, cereals, yogurts etc and then our host took our order for a full English breakfast, which was delicious! We also really appreciated the relaxed timings for breakfast; our host asked us the day before what time we would like it so that we could have a lie in and not feel rushed.

All in all, a fabulous trip made all the better by a wonderful, friendly host. We were made to feel special, but we were also left to enjoy our time at the castle. We weren't rushed and the atmosphere was relaxed and easygoing, but with a highly professional edge. It was our first time in Wales, but thanks to this place, it certainly won't be our last!

Having never visited this area before we had a fantastic three days, enhanced by the fabulous stay at the castle, beautifully decorated wtih all the luxury of a fabulous home, great food and wines, very attentive owners and staff. We were lucky enough to share our friends special Wedding day and be part of the celebrations which we enjoyed so much. Can highly recommend a special occasion or event here, quiet, peaceful or party party atmosphere, whatever you decide will be fantastic.
