Wow, what we can say! Apart from simply wonderful! We wanted somewhere special to celebrate our first Wedding Anniversary and we certainly chose the right place. Set in beautiful grounds, this hotel is definitely worth a visit. We had a beautiful room in the main house (the River Suite) which was calming, spacious and romantic and had a stunning view of the gardens and river beyond. Richard and Zoe who run front of house cannot do enough for you and the same can be said for the rest of the staff who are all friendly, polite, helpful, professional and very welcoming. We had a DBB rate and the food in the restaurant was simply spectacular, as was the wine list. We didn’t go out in our car all weekend and instead chose to make the most of the facilities and the peace and tranquility of the hotel and grounds. We took a lovely little walk around the lake and then beyond the gardens alongside the River Irfon to the local village of Llangammarch which is only around a mile away (although the pub was shut! :-)), we also sampled Afternoon Tea on the hotel terrace and took a trip to the Spa and relaxed in the outdoor hot tub whilst overlooking the lake with a glass of champers in hand! Pure bliss! If you are after rest, relaxation and excellent service then this place is for you. Without a doubt, we will be be back!

I first visited the Lake Country House and Spa in March 2018 for a friend's birthday celebration and had such a wonderful time that intended to return with my Husband as soon as possible. We have just visited and had a wonderful time. Once again, all of the staff were fabulous, the room spotlessly clean and the food delicious. Thank you to everyone at the hotel for providing such a lovely experience, see you again soon!

Lovely charactor room with huge bath and separate shower although they had a problem with a boiler not working so we were without hot water for a couple of hours but as soon as they were aware they switched to their secondary boiler so no real problem. Good food, staff very helpful and the most amazing grounds to walk around. Spa is small but nicely decorated with a lovely hot tub overlooking the lake.

This was the latest of several visits to The Lake. The fact that we keep going back there is of course an endorsement in its own right.
This time we chose to stay in The Lodge (an annex about 20 metres from the main building. All the rooms are actually suites comprising a huge bedroom with an enormous bed, spacious wardrobe and everything from linen to furniture of really good quality. Similarly the sitting room was large and well furnished, including a big TV. The bathroom was also generously proportioned and had a large bath and good separate shower. Good quality bathrobes are provided but not slippers.
Both the Breakfast Room and the Restaurant are first class and I am sure I put on at least a pound a day when I stay there - I just cannot resist such delicious food. The wine list is one of the best i have encountered anywhere..
The hotel stands in its own park which includes a river, two lakes (complete with swans) and the superb spa with a large heated indoor pool and endless facilities.
I think they get a lot of returning guests which is no wonder considering the standards they achieve. One couple we met were on their 31st visit !
The staff, a lot of whom are local, are really charming and treat one as their own personal guest not just another customer. I think a lot of the success is due to the fact that the owners live within the grounds and are conspicuously interested in every detail

Room tip: Suites in The Lodge are particularly spacious but you have to walk 20 metres to the main building

Came here to chill out for the last couple of days of our weeks holiday, and I couldn’t have chosen a more appropriate place to literally chill out. The surrounding greenery lakes and trees really had us detached from the outside world, the rooms and facilities were excellent, the very big pool and spa is ideal, the drawing room where one can chill out and sip a whiskey was perfect. But what struck me most if the sheer dedication of the manager Luke who made sure they place was managed to customers satisfaction, a dedicated person like this gentleman literally is the icing on the cake of such a fabulous residence . WILL DEFINITELY RECOMMEND AND WE WILL DEFINITELH COME AGAIN.
