As usual the Lake didn't disappoint, the dinner bed and breakfast break in a suite was excellent value,(169 GB pounds) the bathroom luxurious, the 3 course dinner with a new chef was delicious as was the hearty breakfast and the big house environment welcoming and warm with a roaring fire in the lounge. Staff are willing and the owner very sociable as always. A lovely quiet break and really good value if you get a special offer..

Room Tip: Some suites are in the separate building, and are more modern, but can put up 2 children, so good for families, and dogs are allowed

We come every year in January because we like the warm welcome we receive. We especially appreciate the fact that dogs are also warmly welcome.

We adore the beautiful rooms , fabulous gardens and surrounding landscape. It is very peaceful here , so lots of opportunities for relaxation.

The food was especially good this year, enormous thanks to Josh Donachie and his team. It is not often you get a Masterchef to cook for you.

Especially liked the lamb and sea bass. Not to mention the celeriac soup which was Devine.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with views of the garden.

Three night stay at this wonderful hotel. Our third visit and just as relaxing/rewarding. Superb suite and dining experience. Great spa facilities even had a few frames of snooker coupled with warm friendly staff and all in such a beautiful setting. We were almost pleased the weather was so bad as it was an excuse to stay in the hotel and just soak it all in.....perfect

Room Tip: Front of hotel suites offer great views of the grounds

Stayed here for a short business meeting recently - 24 hours.
Pros:
All members of staff we encountered were gracious and pleasant; lovely small conference room and excellent snacks; wifi was the easiest to join that I have come across in a hotel; lovely, spacious rooms; good quality evening meal and breakfast (especially the haddock and fried egg); high-quality sitting areas that are ideal for relaxing.
Cons: None.
Message to owner/manager: Get rid of the old style tvs still in some rooms and perhaps give the corridor leading to the rooms neat the gents and ladies toilets a spruce-up.
To sum up - a most enjoyable stay and I would return in a flash, despite the long drive to get to it.

Great location with some fantastic scenery on the drive over the 'ranges' from Breacon. Lovely scenery around the hotel including the picturesque lake. We were in one of the lodges that was a good size, clean, warm and comfortable. The restaurant was very good with a good wine list and the staff were friendly and courteous and this made up for the odd one or two who were perhaps less experienced.
The spa was good with a decent pool to swim in and the steam room and hot tub were enjoyable and it was nice to have the hot tub outside. The gym is small but has enough to get the heart rate up!
The only minor issue is the lack of power in the showers in the spa sometimes only a trickle and even in the room the strength did become a little variable but ok.
Spoke to two people who were back for their 4th yearly visit and we will certainly put it on the list for another time.
