We absolutely loved our short 2-night stay at the Garn Isaf B&B on a recent visit back to Pembrokeshire in early October 2017. We traveled from Canada with our almost 4 year old and 5 month old (and 2 adults). Anne was a terrific host, and you can really appreciate the care and attention to detail Anne has for the property, her guests, and the area.
The B&B is beautiful, and we were warmly greeted with a cup of tea to enjoy after navigating the narrow, high-hedge-lined roads of Pembrokeshire from Cardiff on our first day with the car there. A Sat-Nav was definitely a helpful aide to find the property, although it did lead us down some shorter routes that may have been even narrower paths to get there!! There are some lovely views right from the property and it is a short stroll (5 minutes) down to the Abercastle harbour, where if you're lucky you may get to see the resident seal visit (we saw his head pop up a few times on our second stroll there!). There's not much really "close by" as far as restaurants of the sort or anything, so be prepared to make a drive (or long coastal path walks!) for that. We did have a pub meal out in Mathry close by (5 minute drive at most). Breakfasts were delicious and plentiful served up by Anne to help you on having a busy day around the area, which is of course stunningly beautiful!
The room had a very big bathroom with big tub and shower, and a nice large room with twin bed and double (or queen) bed, and plenty of storage as well as a little sitting area, and the dining/common area and lounge area were great with lots of reading material, information about the local area, and a fine place to relax. We really loved our stay at Garn Isaf B&B and we hope to return before too long! Only regret was not maybe staying one additional night to really settle in, especially with young ones!
