This hotel was very convenient for a holiday coming into Wales, as it's just off the motorway and very friendly. Also there's a nearby village of Magor that's nice to walk into with good pubs. There wasn't quite everything I expected in the room and I noted this to the hotel but I believe they are striving to want to make it better.

Room tip: Rooms have a good view over the brewery and countryisde beyond.

Stayed here 1 night in June. Polite and friendly receptionist. Hotel was cosy. Parking was right outside the hotel. Lovely American themed bar/restaurant about 3 mins walk (the other side of the car park) which served good beer and food. Would definately stay here again if the need arises

where do I start ? visited the hotel a night before a funeral and to be honest the car park surface outside was softer than the worlds most hardest concrete mattress. on arrival i was greeted by a very unwelcoming member of staff then it took ages to check in as they had to "override the system" apparently . upon entering the room i noticed a few faults . door was insecure and the frame around it was rotten , there was a chair in the room that was broken also ... after i had managed to settle in i then tested the bed . breeze blocks wouldve been softer than the mattress , so much that i had to get the mattress off the sofa-bed and put that underneath just to get a bit of comfort . the windows in the room will not open and the aircon was absolutely useless and complicated to use . after staying the night in pain from the mattress as they refused to change room, i then decided to have a shower . the plughole was blocked and then i had to stop my shower otherwise the bathroom wouldve flooded . i then went to use the hair dryer and noticed it had fallen apart .ive spent better nights in a b&b with an opening window and a lower price they refused me a refund and a room change . the only good point was the free breakfast included . will never stay again . the signposts have not been changed either so you will get lost looking for it too .
to sum it up .
rubbish , painful , hot ,stuffy.
total health hazard with rotten and mouldy windows too.

owned by the celtic manor apparently . if that hotel is anything to go by i can only imagine an older building being in a worser state of disrepair . save your money and use a holiday inn .

The Ty Hotel doesn't have the most scenic location, but is very convenient for Newport , the M4 and any events at the Celtic Manor, with which it is now associated. We found the staff very pleasant and helpful, the breakfasts good and the room fine.
Unfortunately one of the lifts wasn't working while we were there and we had to wait for staff to use the one, which was working, first!
We did however enjoy our stay at the Ty Hotel and are happy to recommend it.

No longer Hampton court tiy now. Cheap and fair quality stay. Nice bk included with gluten free bread and soya milk available. Bed is only double not king and a little firm. Tables in restaurants very low seem Kent for children! Overall very good value
