“What a view!”
Reviewed 5 April 2015 for a stay in April 2015

Pilots Cottage is one of the best cottages we've ever stayed in and we've stayed in many. The view from the very large kitchen window gives it the 'Wow' factor. It is dog friendly at no extra charge which is a huge plus. Literally 2 minutes walk to the coastal path which is great for walking the dogs. The coastline here is very rugged but beautiful with the stunning yellow of gorse everywhere you look. Even though the weather could have been better we still had a relaxing time with plenty of walking. Places to visit - South Stack on Holy Island, Motor Museum in Newborough, RNLI in Moelfre, Pili Palas Nature World in Menai Bridge.

“Fabulous cottage with a fantastic view”

Just returned from a week at this beautiful cottage. We were lucky with the weather sunshine everyday. The cottage is very comfortable with lovely views out of the windows. You cannot drag yourself away from the kitchen window as the view is so good. The cottage is very well equipped with everything you would want to make your stay perfect. The cottage is warm and cosy to relax in. Plenty of parking and a lovely decked area to sit out on and watch the fisherman unload their catch of the day. Directions to get there and entry details were very good. We will certainly return to this cottage by the sea

“A comfortable and stylish cottage.”
Reviewed 21 March 2015 for a stay in March 2015

We spent four nights at this lovely cottage with our dog. The house was even better than it looked in the photos. It was a real home from home, warm, really well-equipped and stylish. It was the first time we have rented a cottage in Wales and we were not disappointed. The weather was poor, really wet and we were very happy to have a comfortable home to come back to after a day out. The port area around Almwch was very interesting but you need a car to see the other sights of Anglesey. We really highly recommend this property.

“Home from Home”
Reviewed 16 March 2015 for a stay in March 2015

My partner and I stayed here for a birthday weekend with our son, daughter in law and baby granddaughter, 9 months. The cottage was cosy, comfortable and extremely well equipped. It had a very homely feel to it and we immediately felt relaxed and pleased that we had made such a good choice of cottage. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need (and more). We found everything to be of a high standard of cleanliness. The beds were comfy and the large squishy sofa lovely to snuggle into in front of the fire on a cold windy evening. A wonderful feature of the cottage is the large arched window in the kitchen with a fabulous view of the sea. A week before we travelled, Claire sent a very helpful email giving detailed directions and instructions for keys etc. We all enjoyed our weekend very much and would definitely return.

“Can't recommend highly enough - fabulous cottage!”
Reviewed 2 January 2015 for a stay in December 2014

We have just returned from our second stay at Pilot's Cottage in Amwlch on beautiful Anglesey. Both occasions have been over the festive season and the cottage has been decorated with seasonal trimmings, which we think is a lovely touch.

We'd recommend that if you are staying there, it's better if you have a car as there isn't heaps to do around Amwlch itself, though it's full of old maritime / copper industry character, although it was perfect for us as we took our dog with us and there were some lovely walks round about, but we just jumped in the car whenever we did want to venture further afield (just a short drive to Moelfre, Llandona and Beaumaris, and pretty much anywhere on the Island) there is off-road parking for the car too which is great.

But to be honest, we could have spent the stay not leaving the cottage at all; it is THAT lovely and comfortable. There is a gated deck area to the front, overlooking the harbour, which is secure so perfect for pets or children, and the brilliant and well-equipped kitchen over-looks the same view of the harbour which is simply stunning and means that you can spend hours in there just watching the world go by.

The lounge with it's beamed ceiling and large comfy sofa is welcoming and relaxing, and the gas stove in there just makes the ambience all the warmer, especially in winter when we go but is a bit of a pain to light when it's very windy. There's also a fairly large dining table and chairs which would comfortably seat six.

It's a 3-bedroom cottage - we are just a couple with a small dog so don't use half the space there but still find it to be a complete bargain and a gem of a cottage. But downstairs on the same level as the lounge are two good-size bedrooms (a twin and a double) and a large, spacious bathroom with a bath and a shower. Upstairs in the eves is a lovely double bedroom which we used during both our stays as it has more of a "wow" factor to the other rooms, but on account of high winds during both visits was really noisy at nighttime with the wind rattling over the roof, so we may use the downstairs bedroom next time.

In short, this cottage has everything you could possibly need and I am sure that anyone who stays there would not be disappointed. Communication with the owner has always been great, and it's always been impeccably clean with clean linen, towels etc on our arrival. We love staying there for a quiet winter get-away and even having looked elsewhere, haven't yet found anywhere else that ticks all the same boxes as Pilot's Cottage so for that reason we have already booked again for next Winter, and can't wait to go back! That said, having seen lots of fishermen on the harbour, a mere couple of minutes walk from the cottage, the other-half is also considering an interim summer fishing jaunt over there too, it would be perfect for anyone who loves sea-fishing given it's location.

Overall, highly recommended and thank you!!!!!
