Sadly, we only had one night at this secluded but extremely comfortable hotel. The rooms are large, airy and well-appointed, and the staff friendly and very helpful without being "in your face."
Our evening meal with friends was really excellent - served with great good humour - and so we wish we'd had the time to stay another night or two - if only to sample the other dishes.
The staff really made what was a good stay into an excellent one.

Room Tip: 1st floor rooms have a better view.

We stayed here for 3 nights on a part business part leisure break. The receptionist was very good and helpful,we had room 10 apparently the bridal suite which was very roomy with a dual aspect and lovely views, just a couple of things about the room the sofa and chairs although looking good were just so uncomfortable to sit on and the bathroom needs some decoration.
Down to the bar for a drink before perusing the menu's.i ordered a scotch and dry...no dry ginger!.We checked out both menu's and decided on the bar menu,my wife selected pasta with garlic bread,i choose a burger.... the meal arrives with no garlic bread,my burger isn't the best I request mayonnaise...they don't have any!. Off to bed which was very comfortable and quiet.Breakfast was very good well served by very efficient and pleasant staff.
The sad thing was that we had intended eating in each evening but went instead to a local pub, where the offering was not only far better value but far better.
We have stayed with Hand Picked before and probably will in the future but this is the second time we have opted to eat out, rather than eat in either due to the cost or whats on offer.

Staying here for a few days for work. A stunning location, large rooms with massive beds. Very friendly helpful staff (especially Helen x) ideal base for the mountains or coast. Did not eat in the Resturant but bar food is reasonably priced and the old library very comfortable for end of day relaxing

My husband and I have just returned from a 'three nights bed and breakfast for the price of two' deal at this hotel. The bedroom, bathroom and public areas were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good with a varied choice, and the staff were attentive and friendly. We chose to eat at the hotel in the evenings, so we could have a drink and a rest without the bother of having to go out again in the car. The menu was interesting and different, but we felt it was vastly overpriced with prices starting at £32.00 for two courses, with an option of paying close to £50.00 a head for three. Our food and drink bill ended up costing us more than our three night deal!

Very nice stay in a well located hotel for sightseeing and walking up Snowdon.

Spacious room and large king size bed. Good staff and nice facilities including an indoor pool, gym and lounge areas with open fires.

Two things stop me giving five stars would be the hotel running out of draft real ale and the evening set menu is OK but not excellent.
