We stayed on a snowy December weekend, The hotel was warm, welcoming and beautifully decorated thoughout. We dined in twice, and both times the food was excellent. I would particularly recommend the thyme and lemon crusted cod, while my husband said his steak was cooked to perfection. Breakfasts were also good, and both the hotel manager and the owner were friendly and informative.
We walked the 9 miles to Barmouth along the Mawddach Trail (getting a bus back). Cadair Idris is nearby too.
We found out about the hotel from a list of great hotels under £100 published by the Times. To be honest, if you're in the area why would you look anywhere else? I can't fault Y Meiryonnydd, and will be returning very soon - hopefully many timesMore
