Our stay at The James Lee House was a spectacular, memorable experience which was our favorite part of Memphis. The weather turned unexpectedly cold during our stay, but we couldn't have picked a better place to be for when we didn't want to venture outside.
The entire mansion is completely renovated, with none of the creaky floors or echoing rooms that one might associate with an historical property. The entire building is stunning in its details, its decor, and its finishings. The interior design is understated and impactful, allowing the natural beauty of the architecture speak for itself. The room's furnishings were classy while not compromising comfort. The house was quiet, with no noise or disruptions heard from elsewhere in the house or from outside.
Breakfast each morning has a theme, with options for customization for each person (such as what kind of pancakes you prefer, how you like your eggs, etc). The hosts, Jennifer and Jose, are polite, thoughtful, friendly, and both skilled in the kitchen.
The bathroom in our suite was larger than the entirety of my first apartment and has it's own thermostat. I shed a tear leaving that tub behind when we checked out. If we ever find ourselves in Memphis again, we'll definitely return to The James Lee House. It should be considered a destination in and of itself!More
