We had a very nice stay at the Residence Inn. We were upgraded to a much larger suite and loved all of the space. Staff was friendly and helpful. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast had many choices and was much better than what is provided at most hotels. However, pastries could have been better and coffee was pretty tasteless.
I would have preferred to self-park (it was not an option), but valet was easy to use and staff was efficient.
The location was great. There are many restaurants close by. Try Maciel's Tortas and Tacos located just steps from the hotel. Also an easy walk down to the Mississippi.
Problems were fairly minor:
- Noise from the room above was easily heard and quite loud. We could hear people walking and dropping things. It was ok during the day but not the one night when someone was walking between 2 and 4 am.
- One of the days housekeeping left just one bath towel for three people. A housekeeper brought towels fairly quickly when we requested more, but they were quite damp. I asked her if she had dry towels, and she said no, so I had to take them. Most staff would realize that it is unacceptable to give guests wet towels and somehow figure out how to get dry ones.
- Wifi was not very good.
We will definitely stay here again if we return to MemphisMore
