Owner description: Sun Studio - The place where an 18 year old Elvis Presley recorded his first song. It’s well-known in the music industry as "The Birthplace of Rock 'N' Roll" and the most famous recording studio in the world. Opened by rock pioneer Sam Phillips in 1950, this national Historic Landmark is where superstar musicians like Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, B.B. King, Howlin' Wolf, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison and countless others started their recording careers. Today, Sun Studio still serves as a recording studio in the evenings while hosting public tours during the daytime hours.

This place is AWESOME... Geoff our tour guide and the lovely Portuguese girl in the cafe were so fun and happy... definitely a place to visit when in Memphis and especially if you love rock n roll and want to walk on sacred ground.. my son was given an opportunity to play on the piano that Jerry Lee Lewis played on.. for that we are forever thankful... we love Sun Studios & Memphis...

Thank Louis R

The place where it happened for so many musicians, rising stars and Sam Phillips, the American entrepreneur who sent stars of all colors and creeds into the stratosphere. The tour is well worth the price and the tour guide we had was a worthy entertainer in his own right. See some of the original, vintage vinyl scratching equipment that captured the first rock and roll, rhythm and blues music that changed the world. Sam Phillips even left the very microphone that Elvis recorded into with specific instructions not to be displayed behind glass but held in the hands of the fans! How cool can a place get!

Being in the recording studio where so much music history was made was great. The tour guide had a great personality and kept the tour interesting.
