Owner description: Sun Studio - The place where an 18 year old Elvis Presley recorded his first song. Opened by rock pioneer Sam Phillips in 1950, this national Historic Landmark is where superstar musicians like Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, B.B. King, Howlin' Wolf, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison and countless others started their recording careers. Being in the recording studio where so much music history was made was great. The tour guide had a great personality and kept the tour interesting.

This is a wonderful, authentic step back in time. Really good guided tour explained the rich history of this studio. Amazing to learn about the early days of rock and roll, and to stand in the room where so many greats have recorded classic hits. Highly recommended a visit here!

Iconic studios made famous by one Elvis Presley, but synonymous with other greats of R&B, Country and Blues, such as Jonny Cash, Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis where the phrase ' the million dollar quartet' was coined.

There is a free bus from the Museum of Rock and Soul at approximately hourly intervals.

A very interssting and engaging tour led by Tiffany was marred only by the fact that you don't really get enough time to read about or see all the display items in the museum before you are rushed off to the recording studios where Tiffany played the guitar and gave a rendition of an old country number. An insight was also given into the current use of the studio which is available for hire and has been used by Def Leppard, U2 and Ringo Starr.

There is a gift shop and a small bar/coffee shop situated where the original café used to be.

If you are remotely interested in the birth of rock and roll and music in general this tour is a must.

Added bonus.....We got to see Jerry Lee Lewis enter via the car park out back. Still not sure what the event was but what a result!
