We loved this place from the moment we arrived and would highly recommend it for its beautiful untouched setting. The apartment was warm and welcoming and most comfortable for our party which included six people and two dogs, Karen the housekeeper had left a welcoming pack which was much appreciated by all. There are some lovely place to visit in the local area which are only a short drive away, Port Patrick is a lovely little fishing village whilst Ardwell Bay is a quiet little beach cove area (just be careful when driving down the track as you near the beach - its a little bit rough although not too bad if you are in a 4 x 4). We had a day out at Logan Bay, this is another beach area but on a larger scale, lovely sands and ideal for children or for walking the dogs. Logan Tropical gardens are also worth a visit with picnic areas if taking your own lunch, they do have a nice cafe if you wish to eat in.
All in all, the whole holiday week spent here at Lochinch Castle and the Stranraer area, having been to Scotland many times over the years, this is by far the best holiday we have ever had anywhere in Scotland - this is one of those hidden gems you really want to keep a secret.More
