“Life in a Royal Apartment”
Reviewed 6 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Wow! Dollarbeg Castle has a royal presence both outside and inside. Beautiful entry with impressive marble stairs lead to a modern, comfortable, fully equipped apartment. It feels like coming home, but even better! With view of the extensive grounds from every window, we particularly loved the turrets and their unique decorations. This has been a great location, easy (though with some tricky turns) drive to Dunfermline, Stirling, and even Glasgow. Great access to train stations to go to Edinburgh, which is no place to have to drive but is very walkable. Beautiful coastal drive accessible from here. Have found lots of good restaurants, thanks to Trip Advisor!

“Dollarbeg Castle - Lord of your own Manor”
Reviewed 1 May 2014 for a stay in April 2014

An excellent location to countless places of interest in the surround areas. Very well equipped with all the mod cons and to a high level of décor in the accommodation, defiantly felt special to be staying in a castle.
The only thing that disappointed us and felt it was let down by was the main double bed as the accommodation was advertised as having a king size double and was only a standard double! Also the fact that the bed consisted of 2 mattresses, one on top of another so made it very wobbly when moving about on it, not what you would expect from this standard of accommodation!
But this minor disappointment was defiantly over ruled buy a very pleasant and enjoyable stay. Would defiantly recommend to experience a stay in this castle.

Many thanks for this, and with all the castles, it is great to be the king or queen of them for your stay. The typo for the bed has been found and corrected and it is definately a double bed. Thanks for spotting this and letting me know. Look forward to seeing you back with us soon.....

“Dollarbeg Castle - Superb Holiday base”
Reviewed 2 September 2012 for a stay in August 2012

The castle is set in grounds and looks fantastic upon arrival, with the gravel approach and beautiful lawns, but that is only the beginning of a great experience!.
Getting past the video door system with a key fob, you enter a marbled hallway with beautiful high ceilings and chandeliers and immediately you are impressed. Appartment 5 is on the first floor, so you ascend the marble stairs with huge windows that overlook the grounds.
The appartment is spacious, with high airy ceilings and very well appointed in a modern look, complete with dishwasher, fridge, freezer, microwave, coffe-maker in the kitchen, LCD television and DVD in the lounge and bedrooms with built in wardrobes and spectacular views onto the grounds and hills beyond. The free wifi for the kids was also of great benefit, enabled them to stay in touch - Facebook :-)
Supplied were all linen, twoels and to our surpise, even cleaning materials for washing up and dishwasher tablets - the owners have covered everything, even down to the small necessites that you find in good hotel bathrooms - liquid hand soap, moisturiser etc.
This is a beautiful place to stay near Stirling and you feel "Lord of the Manor" whilst residing here. Would highly recommend this as a base to stay and explore the lovely lowlands of Scotland - Edingburgh, Stirling, Loch Lomond etc.
Would like to thank the owners for a wonderful week spent here in August 2012 - very memorable

Liked best: The whole feeling of being special, in a special place
Liked least: Final directions to the castle were wrong, out of date - but phone call rectified this
