“Highly recommended.”
Reviewed 28 February 2016 for a stay in February 2016

The cottage has a very comfortable and spacious living/dining area and is finished to a high standard throughout. Being equipped with everything you would need means self catering is easy if you chose not to venture out. The booking and communications were simple and friendly, all the information needed was clear. I stayed here before a few years ago and the addition of the en suite is has really enhanced the property. The superb location provided stunning views in the morning making for a fabulous weekend away. I would highly recommend Ben Reoch for a short stay away in Argyll. Great location for exploring the surrounding countryside. Thank you again for another fabulous stay.

“Perfect Location, Excellent Cottage”
Reviewed 2 January 2016 for a stay in December 2015

My family stayed at Ben reach Cottage between Christmas and New Year and despite the wet weather we had a wonderful time. The cottage had everything we needed and was spotlessly clean and comfortable. The owner had even left us some chocolates, fudge and Scottish shortbread which was a really lovely touch. There were games to use for the rainy nights, which made for a very enjoyable stay. I would highly recommend The Village Inn at Arrochar for a meal, it had a wonderful warm welcome and the food was excellent, with a very comprehensive menu. If you enjoy red wine try the Argentine Malbec it is gorgeous. My 71 year old mum even enjoyed the trial we took which is located at the side of the cottage under the railway bridge, but please be warned, it's not for the faint hearted, in retrospect we probably should not have taken mum on such a steep hike, however the hot showers and comfortable cozy cottage helped to heal sore limbs afterwards. If you want to explore the Highlands this is a perfect place to stay.

Thank you Amanda for a lovely review of the cottage. I am delighted that you enjoyed your stay and were able to get out and explore the lovely walks around the cottage - although the steep climb at the start is a bit of a killer! We hope that we can welcome you to stay again in the future and explore more of the gorgeous scenery around Loch Lomond.
Best Wishes for 2016

“Family Weekend Away”
Reviewed 10 November 2015 for a stay in November 2015

We are a family of six and looked to get away from our hectic lives for a couple days. Not always easy to keep a 13, 11, 9 and 7 year old happy but delighted to say we managed just that at Ben Reoch.

The cottage is wonderful inside and out. Ample parking which is well lit at night. The rear area is decked and has high quality furniture to enjoy. The cottage, importantly for our noisy kids is very private so there is no-one looking onto you. The small village of Tarbet & Loch Lomond is a short walk away and for the lazy minded about a 90 second drive – perfect.

The cottage is well laid and decorated to high standard. The six of us were able to relax comfortably in the lounge area with feeling cramped. My wife always seemed to hog the corner of the big soft leather corner seat!

The TV offers a wide range of channels and there is internet to keep the youngsters amused on their tablets/phones – after all they cannot exist without the world-wide web.

All kitchen appliances were great. The bedrooms are spacious with the master being en suite (good big size) and the beds very comfortable. The heating in the cottage was superb and indeed we had to turn it down after a short while!

All in all a great break away and wouldn’t hesitate to book again. Really cannot think of anything negative about the place or suggest what could be improved. Well done to the owner, first class.

“lovely, cosy spacious cottage”
Reviewed 22 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

We stayed for 1 week early September. The cottage is spacious, clean, warm and cosy and a great base to travel from. We walked into Arrochar from the train station just behind the cottage where there is a lovely pub The Village Pub which serves excellent food. Not much in Tarbet itself but as we was using this as a base it was fine. We hired bikes from the pier and cycled to Balloch, part way along Loch Lomond which was fun. Wouldn't hesitate staying here again if we are ever in the area.

“Excellent cottage at a convenient location!”
Reviewed 11 September 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We had a lovely holiday, even though the weather wasn't perfect. The location was ideal as we visited various places in the highlands by car. There are beautiful nature trails within walking distance. The cottage is perfectly furnished with everything necessary, warm and dry. The fact that it is not isolated and offers a feeling of safety was also very positive for our family of 5. Have bookmarked it for the future.
