“New Hotel, but great location”
Reviewed 5 August 2011

Hotel sits on the banks of Loch Earn, well a road between it, but what great views you get across the loch to the hills beyond.
The hotel is fine, our room was clean and comfortable although the shower was a we bit low if you are tall.
Food was good for breakfast the following morning although waiter could have done with smiling a bit more.

A friend and I stopped by for a pint and a bar meal during a good few days backpacking in the area. The service was superb, as was the food. The friendly and helpful staff are such a big plus nowadays when it comes to hotels.

I've no hesitation in recommending this place for food and drink.

Room Tip: sorry - we only used the bar here...

We stayed here simply out of convenience - I had booked a drive with Exhilarate Scotland, who meet and leave from the hotel carpark - but I am so glad we stayed here.
The owners were very friendly and helpful, we got all the information we needed on arrival, and got room number 1 overlooking the loch.
The rooms are more "bed and breakfast"-like, rather than "hotel", and you have an actual key for the door, the walls are quite thin, and you can clearly hear people outside your room as they walk past all the way to their room, creaky floorboards, staircases etc, but it's quaint!
There is a bar downstairs, cosy and local, and the dining room past that.
It's all a bit dated, but that's what to expect around here. It's not threadbare, worn out or dirty, but immaculate, well-presented and tidy.
The food was absolutely fantastic, a real treat. This wee family hotel could honestly put a lot of the major chains to shame. A great selection at dinner and again at breakfast, all perfectly cooked and presented.
We felt right at home here, absolutely loved it, and we would love to go back.
As for the Ferrari? I preferred the Porsche!

Great hotel, room was clean and spacious with a surprisingly big bathroom and we had a gorgeous view of the loch. Staff were friendly and extremely accommodating, and the food in the restaurant was excellent. Thanks, we had a perfect weekend stay here, will definitely reccommend this hotel to others.

Room Tip: Ask for a loch facing room, the view is gorgeous.

This is one of the best Hotels we have stayed in. The owners Robert and Amanda are always friendly and helpful as are the rest of the staff. The room we stayed in had not long been refurbished to a very high standard and the colour scheme worked perfectly though I would have changed the curtain tie backs to a plain dark brown rope type, the room overllooks the Loch so there was really no need for the new T V in here. We enjoyed an afternoon and evening drink with some of the locals too who we also found to be warm and welcoming. Dinner in the Restaurant overlooking the Loch was fantastic and very well presented no wonder we return year after year and cant wait till the next time.
