“just a bit too remote for us”

great if you like lots of walks and beautiful scenery
our wee dog loved it
but took just too long to get down to the main road to head out to any location

“Fabulous location!”

We spent last week at Ellary Cottage and it was the best holiday we've had in a long time. The location of the cottage is amazing - if you like being away from it all - as it really is off the beaten track. The cottage is about a 15 minute drive off a single track road but we just slowed down and enjoyed the views along the lochside. And the view from the cottage is well worth the drive. Our 12 year old daughter loved walking her dog down to the shore and we all spent ages exploring the vast grounds. The cottage was perfect for us although the second bedroom is a bunk room so it may be a bit tight for two tall teenagers. The cosiness of the room was seen as a bonus by my daughter and younger children would probably love it. The cottage was well equipped but quite compact. Fine for us but if you like big kitchens it might not tick your box. Don't go here if you want to be close to shops - again this is a positive in our eyes! We took lots of food with us but we did drive into Lochgilphead a few times anyway. There's lots to see and do in the area if you like the outdoors. The owners were really friendly too and couldn't have been more helpful. We've booked for next year already!
