Apart from amazing house, Crinan and it's canal are beautiful and right on your doorstep, as is Kilmartin. A little pricey for a few nights: a week is better value.
Most beautifull place - it is so spacious, light, full of sea and sky views, you can stay inside on most comfortable sofas in the very high ceiling panoramic windows lounge (worth James Bond:) with glass of whiskey, enjoy the view and never get bored...Birds, bats, boats, islands, trees, clouds, sunsets!- And it is so quiet as nowhere else. Yealand House has all comforts starting with perfect Internet, good bathrooms, comfortable, very well equipped kitchen with dishwasher, great library, great pictures on the walls, all sorts of table games, piano, table tennis (!), darts in outbuilding we used a lot too. I'd say house could easy fit more than 6 people, as you get almost annexe flat with bedroom and lounge and balcony to the right and further two double en suite bedrooms. There was more than plenty of personal space for 2 boys, granddad and us to relax. Crinan itself is very peaceful and quiet but at same time has most perfect city type cafe/gallery with very good coffee and ice cream for kids, and you sit on the side of crinan canal and watch yachts coming in. Also sea food bar and restaurant. And all it is 3 min walk from house. Also you could get a ride to see sea animals, isles and whirlpool from the harbour in the boat. Very recomended.
