“The only thing missing is wi-fi”
Reviewed 29 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

I love the coziness of the place. Fully stocked kitchen. Small, true. Cannot have more than three guests or a family of four with small children. The beds were all made up beautifully with lots of pillows.

Down sides:
1. Clearer instructions would have been appreciated esp. re: hot water having to be turned on always or else there is no hot water for the shower
2. The washing machine was difficult to figure out
3. No wi fi or even ways of hooking up to the internet

Thank you so much for taking the time to give us feedback.
We make sure our website & literature clearly explains the lack of wifi/mobile signal - it's a remote location but it can be lovely to be away from technology for a while & the local coffee shops offer free wifi so it's a great excuse to sample the cakes & coffee!
Likewise we describe & show photos of the accommodation so people know in advance what to expect & as we're not on mains water, it takes slightly longer for water to heat up. A previous guest accidentally threw away the manual for the washing machine & having discovered this, we will replace it.

I really hope you enjoyed your visit to this stunning part of the world & that you'll come back again.

Kind regards,

Alison

“Glenlivit view stay”
Reviewed 9 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Having booked this short break through tripadvisor i traveled with my wife, 13 year old son and his friend. We were not disappointed with the cabin size, rooms, utilities and especially the views. The only thing was by taking the 2 teenagers we found that there wasn't enough local things for them to do unless you took bikes with you as there are loads of mountain bike trails to do. We didn't take bikes so had to travel daily to Inverness for things to do which was over an hours drive each way. This place is ideal if you want to get away from everything and to enjoy some peace and quiet time. The scenery is breathtaking especially the country roads that you drive on. I would advise you to take milk, tea bags etc with you as the nearest shop is 25 miles away. There are loads of trails for walking on but again you need to drive to get to them. I would go back here for a short break anytime but would just be me and the wife and no kids. rating this place to stay would easily be 11 out of 10 and the views would be the same. Also watch out for the flies when getting in and out of your car as you are situated beside loads of trees

Thank you for your review- I'm delighted you enjoyed your stay & hope you might come back in the future.
I'm not sure where you went shopping but there are quite a few shops closer to the lodge and open long hours. Plus, if you do come back and bring the teens with you, there are also plenty of activities near Glenlivet - water sports, cycle trails with bike-hire, climbing, etc..... A bit energetic if you ask me but it'd keep them occupied I'm sure!

Thanks so much for your review.
I'm sorry the hot water was an issue for you - it's not a problem we've had before - perhaps it's because it's an immersion system so it can take a little time to reheat between baths/showers.
I'm delighted that you enjoyed your visit and hope you might come back again.
