Description: This small inauspicious fish restaurant is fast gaining nationwide recognition as one of the best and most exciting places to eat in Scotland. With a superb location & stunning sea views on the upper floor of the Calmac building on Tobermory pier, and their own fishing boat landing fresh local shellfish - its an experience not to be missed. Just turn up unannounced for lunch, but book in advance for dinner. Lots on offer for non fish eaters too.

Having been turned away on the Saturday evening, as we had not booked, we got a table on the Tuesday. The service was excellent and the food to die for. The fish pie and fish stew were amazing and the crab claws so tasty. Would not hesitate in going back if we ever go back to Tobermory.

We ate here on our trip from
America, admitted some of the fish is fresh but some wasn’t queenies being one.
Expected so much but we were rushed, an the smell throughout the place wasn’t great! fish was way undercooked no crispy skin and over flavoured to take away the freshness of the fish! Expected so much from reviews but just not one for us.
Shame as we expected so much.

We were fortunate to have good weather, so chose Cafe Fish because of it’s outdoor seating and good reviews, to eat alfresco overlooking the bay. We were sadly disappointed. The table was dirty, the service was poor and the food was mediocre. Compared to other places it was poor value for money, as even though we spent more at several other places, the quality and portion sizes were far better.

Having read previous reviews we booked our table before we even got to Scotland for our holiday - just as well as they were fully booked and turning people away while we were there.
Our meals were delicious, Oysters with Bloody Mary granita freshly cooked langoustines, Halibut and skate wing were all beautifully cooked. We shared an ice cream dessert (with choc chips, mixed berry compote and crumble mix) that was so good. Great value for money. Book ahead to avoid disappointment.

Booked this restaurant before we visited the Mull, as we had heard how hard it can be to get a table due to the quality of the food. We were not disappointed. The food is all prepared in a small kitchen & preparation area. They only take bookings for tables inside, you can turn up & eat at the seating outside with views over the harbour. Would be very happy to visit here again!
