“Best welcome pack ever”

Suil Cottage is ten miles north east of Stornoway so pretty off the beaten track. The welcome pack on arrival contained more than the average daily shop. Also lots of food and essentials in the cupboards. The property looks directly out over a bay. It is well equipped and cosy thanks to the central heating. The owners also allowed early entry which was much appreciated after a drive starting in the wee small hours of the previous morning. The short walk to the nearby lighthouse past the ducks is an interesting diversion. There was no wifi inside or mobile phone signal locally which many will view as a positive - get out and do things for a change instead of staring at a screen!

We stayed here as we were visiting the Hebridies for the HebCelt Festivala d also to do some siteseeing in Lewis and Harris, The house was very well appointed and comfortable, The local deliacies and goodies provided by our host was very much appreciated, a very thoughful gesture. I particulary enjoyed the books about the local areea and its people very interesting. My husband used the local bus to travel into Stornaway on a couple of occassion and this was very useful The views from the house were wonderfull.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for just 3 days...it wasn't long enough. It's a lovely warm and comfortable little house with amazing views. We were glad it rained on the last day so we could just sit with a glass of wine and a good book. The only 'problem' we had was eating all the lovely treats we were left in the goody tray. Thanks Margaret
