Historic house situated in well maintained grounds. The rooms are well appointed and the superior rooms in the main house are large. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Service is of a good standard. Food is good. When you are booking ask if you’ll be in the main house and if you are then ask if there’s a wedding in the hotel during your stay. If there is ask for a room in the mews. We did not get a minutes sleep due to wedding reception noise when we were there.

Room Tip: Avoid booking main house when there is a wedding party.

The house at Piersland has family connections and so I was very much looking forward to my first ever stay over, but not first visit. It was a great place, not disappointed and the staff were friendly and helpful - one even lent me a tie when I realised I had left mine at home. I stayed in the lodges, external to the house. if you want to stay in the house you will need to specifiy this, I was a little disappointed at not being in the house but a minor detail as the lodge was spotless and very comfortable (a little too hot on arrval but again a minor thing).Breakfast was delicious and the choice extensive in the gorgeous dining room. Great for whisky fans (it was the home of the Sir Alexander (Johnny) Walker, and for golfers as opposite the historic Royal Troon course. Lovely town and an above-average hotel for sure.

Room Tip: Specify if you want to be in the main, Victorian / Edwardian house and not a lodge / external annexe.

Handy for Royal Troon golf course and the links (beach walks). Don't let the weather put you off. If you can see Isle of Arran it's going to rain and if you can't it's raining already. Nice hotel get away from the bustle of Troon High Street.

Attended a family wedding here and everything was perfect from the moment we arrived till we checked out. There is ample parking and our room and bathroom were fresh and modern, as were all public areas.
Nice staff in every area and the food was excellent.
The hotel sits well back from the road within it's beautiful gardens so there is nothing to disturb your sleep.

We visited here for an overnight stay to attend a Wedding in the hotel. Our room was beautifully decorated, modern & comfortable. The room was spotless. It had all the essential amenities including tea making facilities & bottled water. The bathroom was spotless & had lovely toiletries. The hotel gardens were beautiful & we enjoyed spending some time in the fresh air. The breakfast the next morning was delicious, there was plenty of choice of hot or continental options. I would definitely stay here again!
