Despite Co-vid restrictions, yet again we had a fantastic stay at the Lovat. Stayed before in the hotel and in the garden rooms - both are great. Took the dog this time, so the garden room was perfect for us! Taster menu was spectacular - chefs are so talented to turn out these dishes. A la Carte was just as nice the following evening. Breakfast is amongst, if not the best we’ve had anywhere! Staff are so friendly and helpful and the location is just perfect - helped that the sun was shining (even though it was November). As good as pre Co-vid, possibly better. Keep it up - we’ll certainly be back.

We stayed here for 3 nights in November 2020 and had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay. We booked a Garden Room which was exceptionally cleaned and comfortable with a small outdoor seating area where we could sit outdoors. We were able to park our car right next to our accommodation too. All Covid measures were in place throughout the hotel and it all felt very safe. All service throughout our stay was excellent with attentive, kind and courteous staff who were able to make suggestions of places to visit, tell us about the area and even recommend restaurants for our onward stay in Inverness. Breakfasts were delicious, made to order which we provided the night before and most enjoyable. We ate at the restaurant on two nights and the food was absolutely delicious, served in a wonderful setting with a very hospitable, friendly ambience. We would thoroughly recommend a stay at this hotel in visiting the area.

We only stayed 1 night but had a lovely experience. We had 2 dogs with us so stayed in one of the rooms separate from the hotel. The room was set up really well, lots of little extras for us and the dogs, really nice.
The bar & restaurant staff were fantastic. Very knowledgeable and accommodating. Whilst they weren't able to sell alcohol inside due to restrictions their mocktail menu was great.
The food here is really fantastic. One of us is dairy free and the chef altered the 3 course menu with no trouble at all.
In all a pet friendly hotel with great food. Would definitely recommend

Myself and my partner stayed as a mini moon after our wedding. The hotel was amazing, very clean, cosy and the bed was so comfy. We booked one of the hotels deals so we were able to book one night in the restaurant for the tasting menu. The food was amazing and different! We also had the breakfast and I think it's the best scottish breakfast I've ever had. The service was great aswell with everyone being so friendly and helpful making the stay so relaxing. Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay to celebrate/relax after our wedding. Already told friends and family to make a reservation.

Honestly, I don’t normally leave reviews but I think it’s important to tell you how good this hotel is. I’m very surprised that *Michelin* have not awarded a star here, the food is just incredible. The service, presentation and attention to detail by Caroline and her staff makes it a must when visiting Fort Augustus.

Keep up the hard work, I’m sure that star will come soon and I look forward to seeing you again next year. X
