We have often stopped for a coffee or a drink whilst heading North or upon returning home. It has always been my ambition to stay in the Ramnee: my wife and two dogs and I have just got back from a three night break. We were not disappointed! Beautiful atmospheric Edwardian house, but most importantly for me extremely dog friendly. The gardens and grounds were all my German Shepherd and Great Dane needed- the large Grant Park across the road and the wonderful Sanquhar Pond very close to the hotel were bonus extras. The dogs thought they were in Heaven and are now totally whacked! All the staff were really pleasant and helpful suggesting even more walks at Findhorn and Blair Loch. Our room was spotless, the beds comfortable, the water hot and TV, hairdryer and kettle all worked as they should have done. The food was really good and it was no problem for me to get vegan food at breakfast and at dinner. Thank you for a great stay. Eight paws and four thumbs up!

Thank you so much for your feedback which is honestly the opinion of the vast majority of guests, that our staff do care and provide a high level of customer care. No hotel is perfect and ours is indeed a heritage hotel with minimal interference to provide the Edwardian ambience you talk of. It isn't a chain hotel where each room is the same. The dog friendly policy is very popular and our delicious menu is certainly creating waves locally like the tiramisu and vegan choices too. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay and look forward to seeing you and the dogs on another trip!

Two night stay in this beautiful Edwardian Mason. Many features of the original house remain giving the hotel a lovely ambiance.

Some reviews mention that the hotel is a little tired. While I cannot disagree it was immaculately clean and the lack of modernisation can be accepted given the age of the building.

Some bedrooms do not match the photos on the website as our first assigned room while be adequate didn't match our expectations. The duty manager was very accommodating and managed to find us a delightful room with fantastic views over Findhorn.

What made this visit special was the staff and the food. There was a very small team on due to the current restrictions having a devastating impact on their occupany rates. The team were very accommodating and friendly making us feel very welcome.

At dinner we thoroughly enjoyed both evening meals. The burger and venison were our favourites. Great cooking! The Breakfast despite having ro order the night before, and no buffet due to covid19 restrictions, surpassed all expectations! In particular the porridge and French toast were cooked by someone who loves and appreciates food. Would return just for breakfast!

So all in all a great stay and wouldn't hesitate to return.

Thank you so much for your feedback which no matter what guests leave us, really helps us to improve the guest experience. Our hotel goes the extra mile for all guests and we continually seek to lift the bar, even in a pandemic and with so many restrictions on us. I am glad you appreciated the heritage look because since taking over last year, we have deliberately not undertaken large alteration, since this is the overwhelming feedback we get, not to change anything. People have loved Ramnee Hotel for decades and it will stay that way I am sure. Once we exit from the pandemic we do hope to continue renewing our rooms in decor etc but until then we will maintain the scrupulously clean housekeeping regime! Do come again soon.

Had my Dads wake here for 20 people. When arriving took ages too get served the tea and coffee.Sandwiches were all a good selection. But the crisps on plate were soft. The sausage rolls were a insult they were that small on the plate they looked awfull. They were also Luke warm and hardly any.The shortbread was thin and small. Was not very impressed with the food. The poor lady that was serving was on her own serving she did her best.

Thank you for choosing Ramnee Hotel for your funeral tea, which has been the choice of local families for decades. We do understand that grief can play a part in perceptions but we simply cannot agree on your points. I'm disappointed that on the day nothing was raised until with the hotel this morning. As a result we can't put anything right for you or investigate. We served tea and coffee as normal and would not say there was any delay for this. Also the sausage rolls have been perfectly fine for scores of funerals we hold. They are served lukewarm to be able to hold, not blisteringly hot from the oven. This could have been modified on the day of course on request. We are puzzled by "soft crisps" since all crisps are within date but another set could have been easily ordered but were not.

Whilst we note everything you say, we regret we cannot agree with your analysis and we will not be making any changes in the future either, since we already provide excellent service to the funeral directors locally time and again. Our hotel received the Travellers' Choice Award once again recently too so nothing adds up I'm afraid.

Thank you so much for your lovely review. Our hard-working staff do go the extra mile and truly believe in good hospitality. I am so pleased this was borne out in your stay. Do consider coming again, especially as we are on top of the restrictions and are trying to operate within the current advice.

Comfortable bed with huge duvet, dogs made extremely welcome, very helpful staff who adhered very well to Covid regulations so felt safe and is not a foregone conclusion.
Loose leaf tea which was most excellent and unusual these days.
Good spacing and timings for meals.
Really good sized bathroom and although an over bath shower it was very satisfactory with pretty good pressure.

Comments to improve... Sliced bread very ordinary, could make much more of a feature of toast at breakfast. Fresh fruit would be a really nice option but understand that Covid makes things very tricky to plan.
Fod quality bit variable, sometimes very nice, sometimes bit average.
