We had an Itison voucher and went for lunch today. It was delicious. We had spiced pumpkin soup with mascarpone, followed by ballotine of turkey, then Christmas pudding with mulled berries. Sounds ordinary but it was anything but. The main course was beautifully presented and a lovely change from slabs of turkey with trimmings and gravy. Dessert was a complete surprise as it was presented in a sundae glass and was light and really tasty with little bits of Christmas pudding sprinkled through cream and ice cream with a bottom layer of a light custard - delicious. Our dog lay happily under the table which had been chosen to accommodate the dog - a thoughtful touch. Service was good and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch and paid extra over the Itison voucher to have 3 courses instead of two.

Been several years since we were last at the Kingarroch Inn and thought we would give it another try. Very glad we did, pleasant surroundings and friendly staff. Limited dinner menu but food was excellent. Service wasn't slow but neither were we rushed, just right. We will be going back and would recommend Inn to family and friends.

A dinner out with family should be an enjoyable experience. Sadly, although the food could hardly be faulted, our night out was truly dreadful because of the shockingly slow service we received. I noted a similar criticism of this place before we went, but hoped for the best. Unfortunately, our food took so long to arrive (we were in the place for one hour 35 minutes before our main course arrived) completely spoiled what would otherwise have been a memorable experience. I like this place but won't return until I am satisfied that it has resolved its obvious staffing problems. Anyone thinking about going should consider taking a game of Monopoly to play between courses. In my experience, life is too short to waste time in the Kingarroch Inn.

Have driven by the Kingarroch Inn numerous times recently and spotted a voucher on Itison so decided to give it a try. The food was first class (esp the mussels starter) and the service was excellent. Staff couldn't have been friendlier and the Americans sitting at the big table very entertaining!! Will definitely be back soon - thanks for a lovely evening

Visited for Sunday lunch yesterday. I had phesant for the first time and it was delicious, my partner had the antipasti and that was also tastey. We both had the roast beef for main and it was cooked to perfection. The horseradish mash and turnip puree was a perfect combination. For the quality of food it is well priced. The staff were friendly and the surroundings were cosy. There were short waits between courses, but well worth it for fresh cooked food.
