While we had two lovely meals last night, the restaurant was freezing cold and service slow. The slow service was perhaps due to the fact that they were doing a roaring trade in carry out meals with the result that our main course came in three bits - meat dish arrived first and after a long wait the rice came and we were nearly finished when the piratha arrived. No apologies. And the place was like an ice box - no sign of heating what so ever. Not the usual charming waiter.

This lovely Indian resturaunt in Aberlady a village in East Lothian has a peaceful atmosphere, efficient and friendly staff, and the food is fresh, very tasty and beautifully presented. We chose vegetarian dishes, and the starter paneer cutlet was a sumptious serving, with a tasty sauce. The vegetarian samoosa was just as tasty and served with an interesting mint sauce. The Palak Paneer was robustly spiced with flavour and not too much heat! A well blended vegetable rogan josh and cucmber riata was delicious. The freshly baked naan bread rounded the meal off with the warmth and freshness of a soft traditional bread which was used to mop up the juices on the plate. The prices are reasonable and the take out section was pretty busy. When you book, mplease remember to take your own alcohol if you like as they don't serve alcohol. There is a small shop accross the road in case you do forget. Enjoy, and be sure to book.

This is a gem of a place. Staff are wonderfully friendly and the food is always amazing irrespective of whether we sit in or take away. Highly recommend.

Staying close by at the Ducks Inn we fancied a curry and saw some decent reviews for this place. I went on a Saturday night with my wife and 2 sons, aged 12 and 16. We enjoyed the meal and the lively atmosphere. The service was efficient and unobtrusive.
The meal was cooked well and tasty without blowing our socks off. The price was average for such a meal. Try this restaurant if you are in Aberlady and you fancy a decent curry.
