Quite aside from the comfortable beds, warm welcome, delicious cooked breakfast and all-round perfect hospitality of Julie and Alistair, guests also get to stay in a b&b that doubles as an art gallery featuring Julie's own work.
There are some great touches. Over breakfast our 11 year old son was delighted to witness a jackdaw laying an egg on live cctv in the grounds of the property! Julie was happy to answer all of our questions about her painting. Even our dog Spot got on well with Rosie the labrador! They have a lovely garden by the way.
We really couldn't have asked for more as a base to explore this often overlooked corner of Ayrshire and Galloway.
Thanks J and A for a lovely stay.

Fabulous hosts - Julie and Alistair couldn't have been more welcoming or helpful. We stayed here for one night as we were attending a wedding at the Lochside House Hotel. Alistair very kindly give us a lift up to the wedding and upon hearing my bad cough Julie presented me with some tissues which she had doctored with olbas oil! Comfy bed, large bathroom, beautiful location, paintings and breakfast, 5 stars!

I stayed here on business for five nights this week. The room was clean, comfortable & spacious and the gardens offered us the opportunity to sit and eat our tea with the chickens and the dog. One evening we saw two deer going passed the end of the garden which was nice to see
The owners, Julie and Alistair made us feel really welcome and couldn't do enough for us. I had a really enjoyable stay and would recommend Afton Water for anyone visiting the area on either business and pleasure

Thank you for your kind review. The garden in May is a real treat, we love to sit out eating our lunch or just relaxing having a nice cold beverage. It was smashing sharing time with you too, we were so pleased that you could take advantage of the lovely weather. We couldn't believe it was snowing last week, mind you we could have offered you a nice cosy recreational area with the glow of a multi-fuel burner in stead! Hope to see you again in the near future, regards Julie and Alistair.
