Four adults, two kids and two digs in our party. We were welcomed in and given a huge table to seat all of us. Kids had 'kid boxes' with sandwich, apple, crisps and apple juice. The boxes had puzzles and stickers and were great entertainment. Three o fun had the cream tea - very good, and I had the home cooked corned beef and horseradish sandwich - very good. We had two drinks each and the whole lot came to £32 which I thought was reasonable.

We visited on Easter Sunday and had to wait over 35 minutes for 2 children’s food boxes, one can of Pepsi, one coffee and 2 scones with jam.

Apart from the coffee, none of this food required anything doing to it apart from taking it out of the fridge and bringing it to the table.

We were repeatedly fobbed off by staff who were clearly totally overwhelmed by the situation.

Several other people complained about the delays and one member of staff told us that they were ‘unusually busy’. That’s because Corfe Castle is a major tourist attraction and it’s a bank holiday weekend... surely not that unpredictable.

When the food did eventually arrive, the childrens’ ham sandwiches were in greasy, dirty IKEA freezer bags!?! The scones were dry and tasteless.

Well worth the wait then.

We did receive a token gesture of a refund, but what we paid for was extraordinarily poor value. We took the view that we would see our payment as an impromptu ‘donation’ to the National Trust.

Arrived at Corfe Castle after a day exploring the Dorset coast. Walked the lovely path from the car park to the village, along the babbling brook, where we were met immediately by the fabulously smelling tea room. We knew what we wanted and we lucky to arrive at just the right time to sit in the window. I went for a classic cream tea whilst my boyfriend opted for the cream tea of the month which was a simnel scone with cream and lemon curd! They did actually forget his accompaniments to start with but this was quickly rectified and they were very apologetic. Plus he then got to have butter on it too which he does really like (each to their own!). Lovely time eating scones and watching the world go by!

Ventured in here after visiting the castle. We only had drinks but my daughter, son-in-law and grand daughter did. Can't say I was overly impressed with what they had or what they paid for it. Service was impassive.

Five of us went for lunch after our eight mile walk.

Service was friendly and efficient.

Food and drinks were quick to appear and there were no complaints

I had home made corned beef sandwich which was very tasty. Coffee was good too

Getting a cake to take away didn’t present a problem

Reasonable prices
