We needed a place to eat and sleep on a recent last minute drive down the coast. After seeing some great reviews for their restaurant, we phoned and they were about to accommodate us for dinner. The website said their rooms were sold out, but the manager on duty said he had a single room available. We politely passed on the room, assuming it would be uncomfortably small for two people.

Later, while enjoying a really good dinner dinner at the hotel's restaurant (seasonal British farm to table food,) David, the manager on duty stopped by to say hello. He was the person I'd spoken to on the phone. He very kindly offered to show us the room we'd declined on the call. We followed him upstairs to discover a small, but beautiful appointed boutique hotel room that he offered to us at a discount as it was already past 9pm. The room and bed were small, but not totally unrealistic for a couple. We accepted immediately and were even more pleased to find out that breakfast at the same restaurant was included in the price. We had a great evening and a very pleasant start to the next day. It's a gorgeous old building in an incredibly beautiful small town. Much better than the airport hotel in Exeter that was our back up plan.

Five stars for the Bull's room and board and five stars to David for going out of his way to help us out and show us what we'd be missing. We drive from London to Devon a couple times a year, and we will definitely be back. (And next time we'll plan ahead.)

Great hotel and perfect location for Lyme Regis, beaches and Bridport itself is lovely. Room was beautiful, clean and a great nights sleep. We had a family room as we went with our daughter and baby, which was perfect. We would definetely return as a treat.

Fantastic rooms, friendly staff a nd good central location. Get there early as only a small car park at the rear. We were at a family wedding and had a fantastic time the food was great and the staff were very good especially the young lad behind the bar

From the welcome from the charming and helpful receptionist to the farewell the next day after breakfast, every member if staff we came into contact with was a delight. The whole atmosphere of the place reflects the happy cheerful team who are running a first-class hotel. Our room was very nice indeed - the clever little aircon unit was a nice touch. The cocktail bar has a really nice atmosphere with expert cocktail barmen whilst the dinner was simply excellent. We were looked after by Dave, who was the restaurant manager when we stayed, and he was excellent in every way. Knowledgeable and helpful when choosing from the menu and attentive throughout the evening. His was a masterclass in unobtrusive attentiveness.
We will no doubt return to this lovely hotel - the exquisite home-baked breads and goodies that Christine creates in the kitchen is reason enough to return......

Lovely hotel....lovely courtyard and surroundings ideal to discover Bridport and the near by areas......Just rather overpriced!!
The duty manager was fantastic and very friendly and helpful too, as were all the staff.
We stayed in the courtyard....can be noisy if a function is going on if you have children maybe.
The room was comfortable...and good air conditioning unit, and very clean and tidy.
